What 5 characters from the Whedonverse would you choose to back you up in a brawl and why?
I personally would go with

1. Buffy - Cuz, yeah super powers.
2. Illyria - Pretty gorram unkillable.
3. Jayne - Because, well he's Jayne.
4. Zoe - 'Cuz she can kill you with her pinky.
5. Spike - Just because he would look really cool doing it.

Any one else care to chime in?

ETHAN

1. Malcolm Reynolds - the guy just won't quit once he gets started, even if he should
2. Book - scary sob
3. River Tam - scarier
4. Angel - tough even as a muppet
5. The Operative - great trash talker

MALSGIRL

Wow that's kinda' hard (first two picks are easy but after that...), so many good choices...

1. Mal, because he's so loyal, wise cracks are always hi-larious during a brawl and besides, I'd just want Mal around.
2. Spike, because he kicks a**!
3. Zoe, because she's lethal and all stealthy; also I think Mal will fight better if she's there.
4. Jayne, I was going to try and not make the majority of the list Firefly, but he's just so useful in a brawl.
5. Willow, a little magic can go a long way

I would have put Buffy and/or Angel on the list but I wouldn't want the tension with them and Spike. Man am I a nerd or what? lol

FOLLOWMAL

1. Mal- HE JUST WON"T QUIT-
and I like that!
2. Jayne- He has Vera, nuff said.
3. Zoe- she's fearless - you've seen her with
Mal's ear, right?
4. Book- the man has many skills, he'd come in
mighty handy in a brawl.
5. Buffy- yea, the thing about the super powers.

As much as it pains me to say it, I don't think I'd go with any Firefly folks in a top five list. This solely because the other characters all have super powers and are close to unkillable. Jayne might have Vera, but Marcus Hamilton would just stand an laugh as the bullets had no effect. So, I'd go with:
1) Illyria (especially pre-weakened)
2) Jasmine (She has strength and she can recruit EVERYONE else in the world to come to my aid)
3) Marcus Hamilton (kicks butt and looks stylish doing it)
4) Willow (crazy, black-haired if possible)
5) Spike (just because you gotta have spike)

That group should be able to handle most anything that comes my way.

I'll have to stick with the Firefly characters, because I have never, ever been able to even remotely get into the Buffy shows.

Ok my 5 would read Jayne, Jayne, Jayne, Jayne and um Jayne- but that would be unfair to the first Whedonverse character I fell in love with.

So my list goes:
1: Spike- chipped unchipped, soul, no soul don't make no gorram difference to me.
2: Jayne- so sue me kids my first two choices are pretty much coz they're hot and are prone to gettin into brawls.
3: Gunn- I like his ability to fight and wisecrack at the same time
4: Kaylee- cos she needs all the help she can get
5: Dawn- coz she reminds me of a younger me, and she'd be such a graceful fighter. (Yeah I was the key to dimensions of untold hell once, didn't I tell you)

you know markofevil inadvertantly you are including a member of the ffverse- considering Adam played both Hamilton and Jayne
