Everyones fave gunhand is always fiddling with things. How many times as people seen him playing with something?

I only ask because i was just watching the pilot episode and as Jayne, Mal and Zoe are walking off to find Badger, i noticed they walk passed a man and a horse and Jayne touches the horse as he walks past it. Probably means nothing but i liked it and was wondering how many people have spotted.

I have not kept count, at all. I do know that that was Adam's idea and it is a consistant part of the character of Jayne.

I forget now, but there are times when he's doing it subtly in the background and you don't even notice until the third or fourth run and then it's "Oh, look, Jayne's touching that."

Oh! Should I make that the January Screen Cap set at Jaynesbunk? Things Jayne Fiddles With?

In either the commentary or one of the specials on the Firefly DVD, it's mentioned that Adam Baldwin decided that Jayne should always be touching, tasting or smelling things. It was just a little personality quirk that Adam thought was good for Jayne.

"Invader's blood marches through my veins like giant radioactive rubber pants. The pants command me! Do not ignore my veins!"

I love it how he even sniffs the package he gets from his mom in "The Message."

I think I have a theory on this, as I've noticed it too. I think it's because he's so hands-on, he's hired as a merc and that requires his hands.
If he's not sleeping Jayne has to be doing *something*
I think in that respect he's a lot like a child, he needs to constantly keep occupied, or else someone is liable to be injured.

Also, to be perfectly honest he has *incredibly* sexy hands, and if I was going to film Adam I'd definitely concentrate on his hands.

The human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds given adequate vacuuming systems.
