Not to insult you or anything Johnny, but I'm pasting up Haken's link to the article in a thread that will be properly formatted and not a hassle to read.

Myself, I don't have any sort of experiential base with theoretical physics, so...

just as a sailboat can exceed the windspeed through manipulation of the air/sea membrane, we will eventually use the time/space membrane to exceed the oh-so-slow speed of light.

There was a link to a RAM file from BBC news - a bleep about space travel, Star Trek, and Dr. Who, and I'm a big fan.

I know you're an Okie Hack, Wulf, but I'm normally too polite to say so.

Yeah, EX-TERM-INATE! I caught that.

Tom Baker was the only Doctor I ever got to see, and I pured loved it when we had it on PBS here. Man oh man, I was at a buddy's watching this weird-o movie a while back, and this girl goes "Say something geeky." and the guy says "I'm watching the Dr. Who marathon this weekend."

Me, I'm like... "Dr. Who is geeky? What? Hell with you people."

I loved Dr. Who. Tom Baker was my favorite Dr. but I think it's just because he was the first one I ever watched. The Dr. Who series are now on DVD seperated by the different actors. I bought the Tom Baker years set for my brother at christmas. Daleks are cool.

Anything is possible if we can just find a way to do the impossible.

No insult at all! I knew from the moment that I was faced with the challege of posting the article that I was in over my head; Nevertheless, I endeavor to persevere. The reason I posted it, though, was to poll the public. Who thinks that in 500 years we will be able to travel to other star systems and check out the scene. I think that we are definitely on the right track and may even do it, if we don't exterminate ourselves in nuclear holocaust first.
