Zoe, Wash, Mal and Jayne are reavers?

Sorry if this has been brought up before, I've definitely never seen it mentioned.

The other day I set my wallpaper as the awesome still from the Serneity finale with River standing in all the reavers she's just killed. And I just noticed something really strange...

First I noticed that the dead reaver at the front looks exactly like Zoe/Gina. Then I realized that all 4 clearly visible reavers could be likened to cast members.

I haven't got the DVD yet (in the UK) so I can't check the scene. Could this be true? Or just a weird coincidence?

I watched the movie with Joss commentary and he said that everyone did most of their own stunt. He said that the stunt doubles were stuck being reavers and Alliance, so these could just be the look alike stunt doubles. It is weird though, Thanks for posting!

Ok, that is weird. What's weirder is that with the exception of "Wash" (who just looks dirty) the others' faces look pristine. If they are reavers they must be new recruits.

I can totally see Joss being like 'hey guys, wanna be dead reavers?' and I can see those 4 totally agreeing to do it. Stunt doubles? Doubtful, that looks an awful lot like Nathan. Also this hasn't been doctored or anything cos every screen cap I find of this scene looks like this. I have a feeling it's one of Joss' little touches, like Seth green being an extra in the 5th season of Buffy (he's a store shopper) and other little crap like that.

I'm afraid that every time I've seen that scene I've been more focused on River and the Frazetta "The Barbarian" image that scene represents.
