I was an avid Buffy fan since day 1, although I didn't care for the last 3 seasons (especially the UPN ones). I also liked Angel, and there was a time when I thought Joss Whedon was a genius. I was a big Star Trek and Babylon 5 fan, and I always wished that Joss would do a show in a similar setting (space, future, etc.). Well, I thought I got my wish with Firefly. However, when it finally aired, I found it to be boring. I liked the characters, but that was about it. My wife (another big Buffy and Angel fan) gave up after about 4 episodes. I kept watching (even the unaired eps), and it was starting to get better. However, I didn't have a problem with it getting cancelled.

Well, I rented Serenity last week and I really liked it the first time around, REALLY REALLY liked it the second time around, and loved it with subsequent viewings. Now I am hooked!! I ended up buying the Serenity DVD, and I am expecting the Firefly box set in the mail any day now. I now wish the show was never cancelled! I just hope that others will vote with their wallets as I have. I would love to see more come out of this universe that Joss has created.

Joss, you ARE a genius!!

EMBERS

I watched 'Firefly' on Fox when it first came out and I found it hard to get into.
The first episode was 'Train Job' where too many characters were introduced too quickly and I didn't really get into it....

actually it wasn't until the fourth episode 'Jaynestown' that I fell in love
followed by 'Out of Gas' which blew me away....

but I can understand not getting into the show that easily when you missed out on seeing the pilot episode.

Welcome home! Enjoy the community here.
