I went last year to the Chicago Wizard World Comic con,
when Joss Whedon was the Guest of Honor,
and that was really fun...
I think that comic conventions are more fun than fan conventions, there is so much going on...
unfortunately it doesn't look like any of our BDHs will be in NY
but I'm sure it'll be interesting anyway

Not sure if we classify as browncoats but my friends and I have become huge fans of the series with the release of series and movie on DVD.

We are out of CT so NYC is pretty close. Plus, as a huge Kevin Smith fan, his presence is an extra draw.

PS. my cunning hat is on order and I just rewatched "My Bodyguard" :)

I love NYC, Comic conventions and Serenity, but I probably won't be able to go.

It's expensive driving into the city, so as much as I love it, I don't get out as often as I'd like.

I've been complaining for years that most of the big cons are out west (making them impossible for me to attend). The one con I did get to attend (Ubercon III -- Feb. 2004 in Secacus, NJ -- just across the river from NYC), I didn't have to pay admission, so it didn't cost me as much as it otherwise might have. Had a great time. I assume this one will be even bigger (and more costly, even though it's just about 6 miles east of the last con I'd gone to).

If anyone here does a get a chance to go (by car), I can tell you a very inexpensive and convenient place to park very near the Javit's Center. There's an Easy-Park on W42nd (between 9th & 10th Avenues), which is very affordable for NYC, and is only a few blocks (3 over, then 3 down) from the Javit's Center.
