oh god I wish there was a guy who would think that.

No, sadly I am in a Land Devoid of Interesting Men. (commonly known as Liverpool) Theres one person in the whole of my 'real' life who has even the slightest inkling of what a browncoat is and he's about 18 years older than me and dating my mother.

Of the rest of them, garrgh, they seem to form two main groupings, the one where their only concept of fun and interesting is to get tanked up of a night time and find something to rub themselves against.
The other lot take themselves so seriously! 'Artistes' music snobs etc. blah blah blah - even the local geeks are elitist and nausiatingly boring.
The local sense of humor seems to be laddish and potty minded, or cynical and negative. Absolutely no-one understands the concept of personal space -groping is as acceptable as a handshake from what i've seen (and had to endure before I could kick them)
I am generalising , but when every guy you see looks like almost a carbon copy of the last guy you went out of your way to avoid, its very hard not to.
I mean i'd settle for eye-candy, but theres precious little of that around.

I'm desperatly trying not to start quoting Wilde at the moment.

who ever would have thought that an intelligent, fun-loving guy with the guts to stand up and say 'yeah, this is me, sod you if you have issues with it' would be such a rarity.

Well there is a guy who thought like that, that'd be me, but I've also got that cynical negative sense of humour thing going on...

Your obviously being too choosy, that's the problem.

There's nothing wrong with a guy who thinks the hieght of wit is emitted by the lower abdomen...

Remember the comedy greats Terrance and Phillip.

Why you lookin' at me like that? What's that knife for? You gonna cut some bread?

...

Did anyone see the bit on Film 2005 Films of the Year about the number one film of the year being a certain film we all might have seen?

citizen - no issues with cynical and negative humor its self,(see above!) only when its relentless when they poo-poo everything thats not been rigorously examined and rated by their cronies as 'cool' enough.

I've seen your moments of happy happy joy joy, you can't fool me that you're a cynical barsteward

All of you - i'd snap you up in moments, only one problem - the Atlantic ocean(well, in citizens case, its only a £50 train fare, but even that is insurmountable)

Theres actually probably at least a million men around the world who i'd be very happy to spend an evening with at least, point I was making was that not a single one of 'em lives in Liverpool, or even close.

I find it hard to believe that any of the women I've encountered on this site has any trouble whatsoever attracting men. The problem I suspect, is attracting the right man.

I'm just lucky an intelligent, funny, woman choose me from the rest, cause I can truely be an idiot at times, charming, but an idiot none-the-less.

Liverpool is an absolutely beautiful city, gorgeous buildings, great history (apart from that whole, ahem, slavery, thing) great music scene (er, somewhere) world class museums, shops and resturants(Hey, Inara's kind of city)and an adequate waste management system (phew)

If we could get rid of 80% of the population it would be a city worth living in.

Its rather telling that even though its produced hundreds of very talented people, none of them live here.

We hatched a plan when they were re-furbising the local football ground to alter the plans so that they did it fifty miles away, in the hope that the chav-legions would follow it. But we figured that a, even a scally isn't that stupid and b, the legions would just stay where they were, demand a free bus service be put on for them to get to games and then fill up the local newspapers with badly spelled complaints about the busses being full of scally's.

(btw, chav = a base and ugly group of people that can be likened to a cultural black-hole, sucking everything in, bastardising it then sh*****g it out for the rest of the population to cope with. Characterised by their cheap, fake and offensive appearence, overabundance of tacky gold jewellery and prideful idiocy)

Basically, Liverpool - great place to visit FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T LIVE THERE!

Aw, thanks for saying that, but honestly, you don't want to move here. I'd much rather I went to where other people are than inflict the locals on them. I'm hoping to make it to Atlanta this year for that convention you mentioned, but as the airfare alone is £400, its going to take a miracle (or an quickly formed and slightly dodgy charity)

Canadians should be seen and not heard

Sorry couldn't resist.

I think countries have personalities just like individuals that change as they age.

Like the French, they used to be that really annoying kid that nobody liked because they think they're the be-all-and-end-all, when really their bit of a tit. Now they're that really annoying balding forty-fifty year old who's in middle management, is completely ineffective and useless but somehow manages to make it seem like it's someone else’s fault every time. Yeah David Brent is French.

Britain used to be that scrawny little kid that got fed up with being beaten up, built up and learnt how to fight. And boy did she fight, though she did become a bit of a bully. Then had kids and mellowed, a bit.

Unfortunately one of her kids is a layabout beach bum (Australia) and one's starting to get a serious case of biggest kid in the playground syndrome (no offence to our American contingent, just seems to me that America is getting a little too much like colonial Europe these days).

But that’s a bit more political than I want to get here. I'll chastise myself later.

Basically I'm saying I believe in group consciousness...

S - I fully believe that downtown Toronto has just as many awful people in it as Liverpool, there is how ever one vital difference - drive for an hour out of Toronto and you have a good chance of ending up somewhere wild and glorious. Drive for an hour out of liverpool, and you end up in Manchester (aaaaaaaaarrrrgggghhhh!)

Oh, mini subject for the time before we think of another - gossip in SFX this month (i did give this its own post, but I think everyone already knew) Joss was saying in an interview that if he got the chance to do the sequel he wanted to bring back Jubal Early (and Shepard Book, but I shall refrain from getting over happy about that one)

So, my proposed subject - Who do you want to see popping up in any future films/shows?

I'd love to see Patience from Whitefall again. I'd also like her to turn out to be Mals mom - but that could just be the ramblings of a crazy person.

Also, I'd love to see Monty and YoSaffBrig show up.

Speaking of Monty, are we to assume from the film that he was killed by the Operative? He did destroy everyone there was for the crew to run off and hide to. Does Monty fall into that group?

(oo, hang on, do I need to spoilerize this?)

Select to view spoiler:

I fully beleive that Wash and Book and hell, maybe even Mr Universe are going to make a return if the 'verse does. Even had a whole story arc worked out.

They have the medical technology to grow and replace innards, none of them were missing bits, but even that could be solved from what we've seen.

The only spanners in the works would be actually retsoring them to life after they patch them up and the issues that thats gonna bring about and the fact that there it didn't look like there were bodies buried under those little memorial stones.

I do hope they wern't cremated 'cause even in the 25th century I don't think the 'add water and shake' option is going to work.
