While exploring the IMDB website, I noticed they are holding the "Best of 2005" polls. Curious, I wanted to see who was under "Best Actor" and believe it or not, Nathan is there.

I dunno if this has already been posted but guys...c'mon, let's help these guys out...Nathan, or at least Serenity/Firefly, deserve some recognition on a larger, more public, scale.

Let's boost this guys votes so that we can get him to the top before it's too late. If not for him, FOR ME.

All you have to do is sign-up to IMDB I believe (I am not exactly sure), and go to: http://imdb.com/features/rto/2006/poll/bestpeople. It is a form where you can fill out who you thought had the best performances/movies of the year...pst...might as well fill in Serenity and its actors for all of them.

If you don't want to do it, just check it out then.

Niska: Oh, you do not like I kill this man?
Mal: No, I'm sure he was a...very bad person.
Niska: My wife's nephew. At dinner I am getting earful. There is no way around that.

Nathan is a good actor. He brought the character, Malcolm Reynolds, in Firefly and Serenity to life, and for that we will all be thankful.

My votes're in and Yeah Nathan Fillion deserves somethign for all his work on Firefly (Not to mention everyone else) I mean c'mon Firefly had a great cast..

It's my opinion that SciFi is at fault for Firefly's lack of ratings.. I STILL can't catch an episode on SciFi because they never show it when it's slotted.

Who ARE the morons running SciFi? Obviously they can't tell time..

Moo!

Ya know.. even if he didn't WIN this but was in the top few.. it WILL get noticed!!

and uhm.. I LOVE Nathan's acting.. but Man, Heath Ledger was pretty amazing in Brokeback.. might be Heath's year.. same for Philip Seymour who is always interesting and good.

ETA having said all that.. I DID vote for Nathan...lol

It looks like a bunch of kids have hijacked the imdb poll anyway. Harry Potter is running away with just about everything. They even put in votes for Harry Potter as "Best Documentary" and "Best Foreign Language Film". What!?

I voted for Serenity for best film, action film, and "popcorn" (most fun) film. Voted Nathan and Summer for best act-or/ress and Adam and Gina for best supporting roles. Oh, and Joss for best director (Duh.)

It's even got a ranking for best foreign language (non-english) film.

Hey UK browncoats, what language you speak? I mean, all this time I thought it was english! Apparently I was greatly mistaken!

Haha, thanks guys. Heath did do an excellent acting job in Brokeback but that does not mean he has to win every god-damn poll on the internet. Let Nathan win some. Plus, if the kids are hijacking the polls and voting for Harry Potter literally for every film, doesn't that give us an excuse as well...?

I voted Nathan for best actor, Summer for best actress, Sean for best supporting actor, Gina for best supporting actress, Joss for best director, Serenity for best film and for best popcorn film.

Mal would kick Han Solo's ass.

Yeah That's what I thought originaly. So I set my VCR to mass record from 4pm to 11pm and still can't catch it.. all I recorded was some show I dunno the name of, Ripleys, Stargate, Xfiles, and More Stargate.

I dunno what the frick the problem is but here in AZ We can't go by TV listings even on SciFi's website because what's listed is never what's on..

Yes, I have to agree. And, I am unable to think of any other performance in a sci-fi film where the performers did such a great job.

Nathan definitely deserves (at the very least) a "Best Actor" nomination at the oscars. I doubt he'll get it. The Academy tends to shy away from sci-fi films. And I'm not saying this as a Browncoat, I'm saying this as an objective viewer of films.

Nathan did some nasty things in the film (he shot unarmed people three times) -- yet, he still makes you feel for his character. He did an excellent job, worthy of being noticed by all of the award-bestowing institutions.

Even more so, Summer Glau deserves not only a nomination, but a victory for "Best Actress". Innocent insanity, genius mind-reader, lethal assassin all in one film. The transition from highly emotional scenes to kick-butt action star was nothing short of incredible.

This young woman was outstanding in this roll. If she doesn't get a nod from the academies, something is definitely amiss.

When I put my votes in I found the following:

The BDM is at #5 for best picture
Nathan is at #7 for best actor (beating Russell Crowe)
Summer is at #5 for Best Actress
Adam is at #8 for Supporting Actor
Joss is at #4 for Best Director
and the BDM is at #4 for Best Popcorn movie, beating out Episode III (I did like EpIII, but Serenity was FAR better!!)

Baldwin was a suprise for me to see on the supporting actor list. I think it may have been so because after watching the series, you notice that everyone shares the limelight and emotions equally. But then, if you watch and seperate Serenity from the rest of the group, you notice there's an imbalance in the limelight's focus between all the actors/actresses.
