Everybody loves serenity Just fyi.

Hello everybody, I'm one of the newbies... Backstory, I'm never watched or cared for buffy, and I guess that's the only way you would ever know of firefly. I hear from people fridays at 9? Anyways I had never heard of firefly. But a webcomic i read plugged serenity this fall, saying it's the best thing ever since the world. I was skeptical of the trailers at first since I've seen about as much as I care to of ass kicking 90 pound girls, but the box set was in best buy and on an impulse I bought it.

yada yada everybody knows the rest of the story... doing tricks on the corner for some firefly news, I was. My wife loves it, and I've started spreading my shiney new spare set around the office. Everybody who sees it.. yada yada you know... /backstory

Anyways, the reason for the post! has anybody noticed how on the imdb vote for your favorite movie/actor/rich person, you've got serenity around the middle, nathan and summer in the middle along with alec no relation baldwin in the middle of whatever the respective category is. All getting around 6-9% of the vote.

And then you go check out the worst of 2005. All the same movies and actors that serenity and co. are competing with for best, are listed all grabbing 10% of the votes that they don't want to get, opposite serenity which get's nada of the bad votes.

So if you look at King kong getting 11% good, but then 9% bad.. (didn't count actual votes, no science is going on here, it's all feeling.. don't look at me like that... oh yea? what the hell is an Ion cloud??) that means the great ape, and no-disrespect to PJ, is sitting on only 2%percent of goodness.

hmm, ok just went and checked out the actual votes... don't pay attention to anything I just said, in fact don't read what you just did. All i'm saying is that anybody who actually sees serenity loves it and has nothing bad to say about it.

So as a newbie, who is comfortably walking the path you laid down, I just wanted to say keep up the good work, 'verse will continue.

Honestly, I didn't care much for Buffy either. When Firefly first came out, I was hesitant to watch it because of that. But I was starved for good sci-fi and I gave it a chance when it first came out and I'm very glad that I did.

Exactally. I'm always up for sci-fi, and if they marketed "space from the guy who did buffy" I wouldn't have cared, cause at least it was space. But they would have had to market it. Like at all. Granted I'm in the navy and I deployed a lot during the early 2000's but prior to serenity I've never even heard of it.

Only one guy so far that i've talked to about it, out of i'd say 30+ has had any idea what firefly is. I'm gonna have to say I don't like fox.
