I am having a blast bringing you 'verse related music! I want to thank all of you tuning in and voting for the station. You all have accumulated over 900 hours total listening time since our launch on Christmans day. That is impressive! I haved filled the whole week with specials so now you have a different show every day. Along with our regular
playlists we are broadcasting 24 hours a day. CDs are arriving from Amazon.com almost daily...and I have investing in very expensive broadcast software so I am not going anyplace anytime soon. Please listen when you can. Contribite Mp3s if you like and tell everyone you know about the broadcast.

See you on the air!

Bless the signal!

When visiting the Apple store in my local mall, I found Browncoat Radio on one of the display computers. I left it running on there because I liked it so much. Keep it up!

I've been a DJ and a programmer of storeplay music for a variety of stores, including some big Best Buys & Musiclands, among other places, however that was about 10 years ago. Your comment reminds me of my retort to a Best Buy regional manager - he was paying a surprise undercover visit - and, instead of what the stores normally approved of ("upbeat, commercial, dance-pop"), I had programmed a mix of Sunny Day Real Estate (at their most intense), the Spanish monks chanting, 2 Hummel piano concertos, Tupac, Dizzy Gillespie, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Capercaillie.

Sunny Day Real Estate had just crushed all the speakers (I like it loud) & immediately, the monks toned in & this guy came over, revealed that he was the regional manager & demanded to know what the hell I thought I was doing, programming crap like that. Before he had a chance to know what hit him, people started lining up by the dozens at the music counter, wanting to know what the heck everything I'd been playing was & could they get a copy of all of them?

I admit it was a small moment but it was a moment of such personal triumph & vindication, it really made my day. I ended up quoting Louie Armstrong to him (when, in a 1960's interview, he was bated with the question, "what did he think of (that controversial (in those days), young, upstart) Jimi Hendrix - burning his guitar & playing with his teeth, etc.?" To which Satchmo replied (in that gritty rasp of his), "The ear is ready for all kind of sound."

Exclecticism is its own reward HOHOHO
