There was a UFO buzz over Edinburgh on Saturday. Classic sighting stuff (two bright yellow orbs.)

Folk doing the usual cliche stuff too. (Phoning Edinburgh airport, calling the police, radio stations and getting scared witless.) *Sighs*

My sister called me to talk about it too.

I kinda follow ufology a bit. .. Um.. A lot. Seriously though, it would do my head in if I believed everything though. I take a factual approach to it.

(There's a number of respected U.K researchers out there that write some interesting, methodical, no nonsense stuff. I make up my own mind about what I read though.)

When she called, I was blase. It was nothing new. There's tonnes of sighting like that in the U.K. It could have been ball lightning or anything else too. I even asked her if it was near any powers stations, but it wasn't.

The official word was that it was Venus, which made me laugh.

It was crazy on Saturday night.

...Um.....

I got carried away there. End of rant.

Talking about aliens, anyone catch that new show 'Invasion' last night on Channel 4? Maybe both sightings were a publicity stunt to generate lots of viewers? You never know! (Tongue in cheek)

I watched Invasion. It'll be interesting to see where they take it and how they get there.

Just got my S3 ticket. I tried about five or six times between 10am and 11am, and started again at 2pm when I got back home. Got through to the man himself on the, oh, sixth attempt I guess.

Oh, and WOO!

For those who went to the previous two, they are on sale from today.

Not that Mr H seemed to have checked that with me...

Well, the papers are signed which put me & my wife in debt for the purchase price of a 2005 Prius. We pick up the check (checque for you Britlanders) this afternoon and then pick up the new car. It's kind of exciting, the last time I bought a new car was in 1989, but it's also a bit creepifyin' to owe that much money.

Sure going to be nice around the gas pump, though.

Glowing Orb is superheated gas

The glowing orb sighted above East Anglia is believed to be an object known as the 'Sun', not to be confused with the newspaper of the same name.

An eyewitness, an American servicemen who only gave his name as 'NoSkillz' said:
"It's just the sun, what's wrong with you people, haven't you seen the sun before?"
Who is this 'NoSkillz'? His name is an obvious alias, and he seems quick to discount this sun as anything out of the ordinary.

Could NoSillz really be a black-ops UFO cover-up expert sent from area 51?

Baseless Daily says:
Yes.

If you adjust your tinfoil hat properly the radiation from the Orb can't hurt you.

What the hell was going on with the walkie talkies in the hospital? Is that allowed? You're not even allowed to use mobile phones in there.

(Tongue in cheek) AND, is it possible to walk away from a car crash without a scratch on you? There wasn't a cut or scrape on Eddie Cibrian or the girl. Even the rutting' cat survived! Where were the airbags?!

Seriously though, it is a really good show. It will be interesting to see where it goes. There's a nice, creepy tone to it.

David is my favourite character. I liked him straight away. Then 'Lisa Sheridan' who plays the news reporter Larkin Groves.

I saw Invasion. It premiered in the fall here. I watched 2 eps of it, I think, and then got bored of it. It didn't keep my attention. But that was me.
Does anyone have Season 1 of LOST on DVD? I was watching the commentary for a few of the episodes over the weekend and they kept saying "Let's tell them what the monster is! They deserve it. They bought the DVDs. Let's tell them!" And then NOT TELLING. It's mean to tease.

Son,

I walked away from an accident. Car was totaled. I climbed out with nothing but a scratch on my right hand. The car was just a mess. Bent in half, windows shattered, driver's seat on top of the passenger's seat, and all the fun spinning around I did before it stopped was great fun. Anywho, yes, it is possible to walk away from what should be a deadly accident. That truck was speeding when it broadsided me. No airbags. Just lucky I'm tiny enough to fit in the unsmashed areas and I knew enough about cars and motion to somewhat control my spinning, crunched vehicle and keep it from hitting other vehicles. btw, this was years ago.
