Buy a second copy of the movie and give it to someone you think will enjoy it.

:)

I've been using the series as the hook.
Then like any good "dealer" I remind them that the first taste is free...the movie they'll have to buy themselves.

I'm 5 for 5 with that one.

I may have mentioned this elsewhere on the boards, but I have bought 5 copies of Serenity!

It started when I got a copy for Christmas as a gift. But, the dear friend who gave it to me was going overseas, so I gave it to her instead. I then ordered me up a copy on Amazon... but I got impatient. So, I went out and bought 4 at once, 1 for me, 1 for each of my friends (1 of whom is the reason I ever even watched Buffy way back in the day.) I suppose, when my Amazon order comes, I'll have me a back-up (or a spare to give to someone new!)

I also bought my dvd set, then the following week I bought another for my best friend. I also introduced some new folk to the verse and thought they might like a copy. So tonight I bought a 3rd copy of the dvds to pass along.

Now, I am not made of cash, I just want to contribute to the sales of this particular product. The Amazon order I mentioned also includes the role-playing game (oh look out!) 2 Buffy books and Finding Serenity.

I mentioned my friend going overseas... well I'd bought and read my Finding Serenity already but I wanted her to have a copy so I gave her mine and ordered another. I wrote in the front cover that all I ask, after she reads and enjoys, is that she buy herself a copy of the book and pass along the original to the next Browncoat or Joss-kindred she encounters on her travels.

And it doesn't take much to find us out there in the black... Just tonight I was commiserating with a girl in HMV who readily admitted how much she loves Buffy and Angel. I rubbed her shiny about Firefly and she ended up buyng the series and movie!

It's always a treat to meet like-minded folk :)

Shiny!

I've given out a couple already. I've also used my DVD sets to hook many people, who hooked more people, who all bought their own DVDs. ;)

I'm also host of a podcast, and we've been toying with the idea of doing a contest where the winner would get say, Serenity on DVD, or something like that.

Actually, you should have a second copy of Serenity and Firefly that you can loan out. And then you should buy extras as gifts.

Yes! Plenty of Gift giving opportunities.

Birthdays.
Charity Drives.
Libraries.
Hospitals.

Christmas again.

If you don't have the money to buy DVDS (but have a library card), see if your library has a copy. If they don't, you might be able to request that they get a copy.

Suggest people rent Serenity or tell them it is in the library. Maybe they will end up buying the dvds.

Well, I did buy 2 copies of the DVD set. one for me, one as a loaner. And most of my friends know I also have the movie, so if they wanted to see it, they'd just ask me.

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "
