Greets every1, I seem to be unable to find a thread that goes over these qs, and I'm sure some1 post it be4 but I would like to ask you:

1. Does any1 know why did Wash have to die in Serenity?
2. If any new season of Firefly is shot, will the events in it be be4 the movie or after? In short, will Wash be in them or not?

OK well the only one who knows why he had to die is Joss. I honestly do believe that if they continue the series that they could do a pre-quel to the show. I only say this because the show wouldn't be as good without Wash

Yeah,
When they bring the show back I hoped they found a cure for death and revive Wash and Book then mysteriously lose the cure so nobody else can use it.

Joss said on the DVD commentary that he let Wash die so that when u see the other BDH get hurt in the final battle you will think that they all are going to die. Cinematicaly it was a very good move and adds to the suspense of the movie. But us here in the Verse are confused and saddened by this development.

As for Book, I am of the opinion that it was one of Book's many clones that we saw die and that the real Book knew of the inclament attack because of his security clearence from his days as a nameless rankless days as an Alliance Operative and that we will see the good shepherd again some day.

Mal walks into a temple on some random world to make a contact for a new job when he sees an old man sitting on a pew reading his Bible. He sits down 1 row behind and 2 seats right of the man.

Mal: (talking into the ground) So, I hear tell you know a fellow named Badger.

The old man grunts, turns his head away from Mal then gives up and looks him in the face and reveals himself to be Shepherd Book.

Mal: (screams)

Mal jumps to his feet and reaches for his gun. Three Space Nuns look up from a doorway they are passing by, see what is happening then shuffle/run away)

Book: (slightly embarresed, Beaten) Well... It seems I have some explaining to do.

Well I honestly hope that season 2 events (and there WILL be a season 2, we all know that at least) well be before the movie, so we could have our dear Wash (and Book for that matter) back with us!
