I have no idea if he posts here or not, but he just made my day!
Customer calls to check on status of his order - I get his zip code and look it up - three customers for the same zip-

Me - "Are you Mr. Lyon?"

Him - "Am I a lion? I don't think of myself as a lion. I do have a mighty roar though."

Me, trying not to crack up, since my boss is standing there - "I'm sorry, sir. I don't have a Jubal Early listed in my computer, either. Can you give me your last name?"

We both start laughing. He just says, "Browncoats, we're everywhere."

Totally made my day!

I had a similar moment a few days ago when I was reading a television review and the reviewer referred to a character "Taking her in a manly fashion."

Hee hee - that's too funny - nice comeback too.

I keep hoping to have one of those moments, unfortunately they have all been one-sided so far, "That is a tale of woe..." nothing. The other day I apologized to my brother after a small argument we had, "Sorry about being so..." I couldn't find the right word. "Terse?" he said. I was so shocked I mumbled, "once in flight school..." he looked at me like I was odd.

I have had something similar happen to me.

I am a Software developer. Got an e-mail from a guy on a programming related forum asking me about some problem and how I may have resolved it.

So, I send him a reply. ( I only tried this ‘cause I have FFF.net in my sig. )

Well, have you tried “attaching the cortical electrodes to the…(sorry, obsessing over some show)”

It IS like surgery though… blah blah blah explain my solution.

He responds back “yeah of course.. but, I didn’t get a neural reaction.

and it is not SOME SHOW!

”
