On March 10th, Firefly will air again on the Sci-Fi Channell.

TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE TIVO:

Please remember that TIVO recordings are now being used in the Nielsen ratings. Set your TIVO to record all of the episodes that day. Even if you have the DVD set, RECORD IT ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, i'm slightly confused. Are you addressing this to Neilsen people who have TiVo, or are you implying that TiVo recordings *also* are factored in to those who are not Nielsen families?

Dumb question i know :-P

It's my understanding that TIVO recordings will now be added into the ratings. Unless I read it wrong, that was what it said.

Looking at other articles, some say it will be just a few and others say it will be a lot. I think the small sample was from an earlier article and that since then they have expanded the sample.

One articles used the number 20,000.

One small issue with this effort... I believe just recording the show won't affect the outcome. Tivo also tracks whether you actually WATCH the show (supposedly even your commercial skipping habits). Don't know if the deal with Nielsen takes this into consideration but it might. Anyone have more info on this would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I've had Firefly in my Tivo wishlist on one of my DirecTivos since the show first came on (still have the original eps thanks to the HUGE drive I insalled in my Sony SAT-T60. I watched one of the original recordings a while ago and was amused by the commercials on the air at that time
