Will it continue?

Will firefly serie continue after their last episode 14? Will they start working on it again?

Do anybody know the name of the intro track?

Whether it will continue is in large part up to us, meaning it is in large part up to you. All it needs to continue is for someone at a network to believe it is worthwhile in terms of money.

The best way to do that at this point is to show it can be sucessful as a movie, and with it out of theaters the only way to do that is to have good DVD sales.

Once again there is only one way to go, we need to get more people in love with it, and thus buying it and spreading the word themselves.

So if you want more tell everybody about it, sit them down and show them the first episode if they won't spend the money to buy or rent it themselves.

That's really all any of us can do, I wish we could do more. Just remember that if they like it enough to buy it (or just like it) you should get them to tell all of their friends (if they have friends that are not yours too that is.)

Yeah, but that doesnt help much, I want the serie to continue. But what else can you see, I have all the episodes but I heared there was a movie to? whats i called?

Will the series be picked up, that answer lies with Joss Whedon and other executives. In the movie business we have seen first hand where the power of the fans can lead an idea (see star trek for example), not only did the enormous out pouring of support lead to the Star Trek the Motion Picture, but 6 movies with the original cast and 3 spin off series. If you are waiting for DVD sales to judge if this will come back to television you may wait a long time. Television and Movies are two separate animals, each of the cast and Mr. Whedon are too familar with T.V. they are all veterans. Polls decide a television series fate, not enough viewers to satisfy sponsors, no sponsors, no money. If you want it back on T.V. eighteen hundred polling members is not enough, that is the facts, show a competitive audience dedicated to the show at its time slot and be aware the slot may not be a favorite, but collect the audience and you may have your series again. Perhaps that is why Fox still holds the rights, no other network since SciFi channel has aired FF. The one true ingredient in all of this is Joss Whedon, does he want it back, what is his thoughts? If his interviews are an example, you can't have a second or returning season or series or motion picture without his talent behind the camera and infront of the executives of any network or motion picture corporation. If he films it for the big screen or for the tube, obviously we will make way to see it, and even buy it on what ever media it is produced on. The whole platform rests on Mr. Joss Whedon.

The movie (also referred to as the BDM or Big Damn Movie: see the 'Safe' episode) was called Serenity.

Once you've seen all the eps and the movie, there's a little bit more Firefly to be had. There's the River Tam sessions that were put out on the 'net as a viral marketing campaing, which are quite good and rather spooky. Also, check out the extended gag reel, with alot of the stuff that didn't make it to the DVD version. (How could they have possibly left out Nathan Fillion following the camera around in that scene from the Message?) Then there's also a script for an episode that they never filmed, can't remember the name off-hand, but it's very good as well.

Sorry, I don't have the links to any of those, but I'm sure someone around here does. It's not much. But it's enough. For a little bit, at least. (Sated me for about a day or two before I started hungering for more :)

Also, there's the novelization of the movie, the Visual Companion to the movie, and Finding Serenity (a collection of essays about the show). Also a graphic novel is out, now in trade paperback, which was written by Joss Whedon and sort of serves as a lead-in to the movie. I'm waiting on amazon.com to send me those, so I can't really comment much on those atm.

And... will it continue? It has to ;p Us browncoats can't rest until it does. We hold 'till Mal gets back. However long that takes.

Actually it does, but only if everyone does their part.

I don't know if you've heard of pyramid schemes but the reason they fail is the same reason we could succeed. It's also the idea behind Pay it Forward.

Lets say you get two people to be fans, and they each get two people to be fans, and they each get two people, and it goes on like that. Well first there would be you, then you and the two you converted, then 4 more for the people they converted, and in five conversions you’ve gone from one fan to 31 fans.

If each person got three you can replace that with three then in five conversions there would be 728 after five conversions. The more each person converts the larger the number.

The problem is that it can not go on forever, maybe the people you know don’t know that many people you don’t. Ideally we’d each convert ten people and in less than ten cycles the entire population of the world would be fans, obviously it won’t happen.

But what I’m trying to show is the potential that one person has, if you actually work at it you create a ripple, and like any ripple on any pond it grows. It might be far fetched and overly wishful but it is the best chance we have because if we show that enough people will watch we will get the series back.
