So, the wife and I are sitting down to eat and fire up Tour Of Duty (late 80's show).

It was season 2 episode 4 and what do I see, but a young Jubel Early.

So apparently, Jubel isn't the first time this actor played a soldier type character.

Just thought I'd share

Richard Brooks was the original assistant DA when Law and Order debutted.
I watched Tour when it was during the 80s. Funny, the original theme song for it was Paint It Black by the Stones. I believe it was changed for syndication.

Does that seem right to you?

Never saw it in syndication but I know they changd it on the DVD's to an instrumental beginning. In fact I think they changed all the music (bar scenes, etc) to instrumentals.

Hm, I think I may have to check out Law and Order (never really watched it). But, now that it's mentioned, I do remember seeing him in a suit while channel surfing or some such.

But, yes on the DVD's they did change the music. There's too much "oldies" in there for me to think that they changed it all. But the theme changed for sure.

The first run TOD music was too expensive to license in syndication and DVD, so they replaced it with songs that required less $$ for royalties.

Luckily enough, a friend of mine burned DVDs off of the master tapes from CBS, so they're great quality (better than VHS, though not perfect DVD)and they still have all of the original music. For me, the music *made* a lot of the show.

Funny.......I guess Browncoats do like the same stuff!

He was also an angel in the "Corps" in the short lived series "G vs. E" on Sci-Fi back in 1999 or 2000. Interesting show, and he's always been a good actor!

He was on the show for the first 3 seasons (I think) and then was replaced by the revolving door of ADAs. He makes a couple of returns as the same character in later seasons where (in the storyline for the show) he has become a defense attorney. One of his best returns as that character was last year (I think) and he was really very good. When he was a cast member, his part never seemed all that developed since the main focus of the "Order" part of the show is usually the higher up ADA like Stone or McCoy and the DA himself/herself.

He was on a very short lived TV show called Good vs. Evil on USA too. I only saw a couple episodes, but it was not bad.

Well, that's disappointing. ToD was one of my favorite shows, and I agree that the music was a significant part of it. Where does one find friends with master tapes from CBS? *sigh* All I have is a couple of umpteen year old VHS recordings from when I was a kid. For those with the DVDs, does the replacement music work for it?

Not really. But at the same time, it could have been a lot worse.

Well, the Rolling Stones are and always will be my favorite all time group, so needless to say I loved "Paint It Black" being the original theme for TOD.

Does that seem right to you?
