I was just on Creation Entertainments site and saw that Nathan had to cancel Grand Slam March 10-12, 2006.

He has been added to their Chicago Fangoria event March 4-5 though.

You can also catch Nat at Moonlight Rising and Flanvention II.

Wonder if it's because "Slither" is screening at SXSW right around that time and he's planning on making an appearance in Austin instead??

MAL: We're still flying.
SIMON: That's not much.
MAL: It's enough.

That's what I thought right away too, McAllen.
I'll bet that is it.

Wish I knew for sure. I'm only about 3 hours away from Austin--if I could guarantee a Nathan sighting, I'd make the drive down there and throw myself at his feet! ;-)

Ask CanadianBrowncoats? Maybe they will know, or can find out for you? I wouldn't wanna miss a chance to throw myself at Nathan's feet!

Wow, just to see him in person....I think I'd pass out.

Nathan's going to be in Austin?

*Squee!*

Oh man, I am so dropping everything to see him, if such is the case.

well skipping the Nathan train and getting back to the Creation grand slam. Adam Baldwin is taking his place, with Summer and Morena are going to be in attendance on Sat as well. there is a chance to get a Browncoat breakfast with the cast. I've already got my tickets for the weekend and also photo ops with both the ladies.

Browncoat Breakfast?

Photo Ops with Summer and Morena?

Wow. Lucky you.

I'm a new fan--only a few weeks old really. So I'm sincerely envious and impressed.

Hope it all pans out for you.

Nah, you'd stay standing. He's cute, but he looks very different than Mal--younger, more babyfaced. It's a tribute to his acting that Nathan in person is nothing like Malcolm Reynolds.

Barnaby--Nathan being in Austin is pure speculation on my part. Not trying to start a rumor. I just knoe that Slither is screening there that week, and Nathan just cancelled his Grand Slam appearance, so I was trying to put two and two together and come up with an opportunity to eyeball the man!

And LeeH--I'm banking on that and have no doubt you are right. Mal's my man, though I think Nathan's fairly nice and shiny himself. I'm not usually a very starstruck person. I've never been tempted to *squee* when seeing someone famous, never asked for an autograph, etc. But Mal just mesmerizes me, and so I'm pretty sure I'd be all squuee-ey if I ever actually got to meet Nathan and tried to thank him for doing such an amazing job with the character!

Hmmm, but maybe he's charming and funny, and I'd still like him a lot? I hope....

And I DO think he's more than a pretty face... he's able to make you buy in totally to the character that he's playing. Whether it's Mal or someone else. Perhaps aging will be good for his career then. As he looks less baby faced he'll get more roles that will bring him the attention he deserves.

Thanks, Leeh.

Mcallen, if you should ever get to meet Nathan, please tell him thank you for all of us... he's just the best and it'd be great to get a chance to tell him that.

Hope someone posts some news about his change of plans and where he'll be and I hope it's Austin for you.

FOLLOWMAL--I hope Nathan gets the attention and success he deserves, too. Really--I don't claim to be in the biz, so maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I think he's one VERY talented actor.

And if I ever DO meet him and am able to find my tongue at all, I will definitely thank him for everyone. You do the same.

Don't ya just want to sit down with Joss and Tim and Nathan and everyone else and go ON and ON and ON about how unique and wonderful Firefly and Serenity are? I do. So much it's kinda scary!

I will! If I ever got to meet him, I think I'd be tongue tied for about a minute, then the "needing to tell him just how good he is" thought would win and I'd be able to say it. My daughter lives in Cali and she keeps tellin' me she's gonna figure out a way to get me to Flanvention one of these years. I hope I can.

I think Nathan has the potential as an actor to win awards...big awards. He's just that good. He'll get the break he needs for that too. I just hope he has plenty of time left over to be Cap'n Reynolds for us in between ( you know, for the 3 movies and 10 seasons I'm countin' on!).

And yea! I do wish I could sit around and talk story and 'verse with Nathan and Joss and Tim and all of them! It'd be so much fun! It's just exactly like that! I'll bet they'd do it too and make a person feel comfortable enough to contribute.

Here's hoping we BOTH get to meet Nathan and the other crew one of these days!

You are so right - I would love to tell JOss,
TIm, Nathan and all the writers, cast and crew

Just how special Firefly/Serenity is. Its a
fresh new look to Sci Fi - and a great Old look
as well. The characters have so much depth, with so many layers -
so amazing - I truly don't think we'll see anything like it for a looong while -if its not
re-awakened.
BUt I digress--

It was well written, well acted, well shot
a triple threat

no wonder fox had to cnx it - it made all their
other shows look wooden, and poorly done

Here's the link for the film festival aspect of SXSW. I'm thinking of attending since I live in Austin. There are several films on the list I wouldn't mind seeing. I might even get a seat at Slither, if I'm lucky. It would be a bonus if Nathan were in attendance, but I won't count on it.

I am going to Chicago Fangoria just for him, and I have no idea what I will say if I get to meet him. I have been such a fangirl of his since 2 Guys & a Girl, and it went into overdrive after Firefly. What could I even hope to say that conveys that I am a huge fan, enjoy his work, love that he is so good to the fans, and not sound generic, overly-gushy, or worst of all, Scary Stalker Fan?

I'll probably end up stuttering, "Hi...um, hi!"

(When I met Summer at a screening last, um, summer, she said hi and asked how I was, and I said, "Oh, pretty good, pretty good." I could die.)

Thank you for the heads-up! I just bought my tickets to Fangoria...I'm a big fan of Jenna Fischer, too, and she's going to be there, *too!* I am sorry Nathan cancelled Grand Slam, but this gives me the opportunity to see him. I don't get opportunities like this often!
