I just got back from Monk's Pub on Lake and Wells and thought I'd let you all know what I saw on the set of Pete Jones new flick, "Doubting Riley".

Nathan Fillion was there today and the two scenes I saw being shot were Nathan playing pool (drunk and slurring all the while) and talking to some friends about his gay brother. As expected he was joking around with everyone before and after takes and did do some improv during the takes that got people chuckling.

I also met Pete Jones and several of the investors and everyone seems real down to earth... just a couple of suburb guys making a film they're passionate about. There are probably 30 people or so working on this movie.

Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to Nathan as most of the time he was rehearsing or farther down the bar. Tomorrow and Labor Day are days off so I'm not sure if Nathan and some of the other L.A. people (most are local Chicago crew) are headed home for the holiday or are sticking around. Who knows... if you're in Chicago you might bump into these guys as that is where everyone is at now. It sounds like all the suburb stuff is done.

If I hear or see anything else I'll let you know.

How keen! I've been keeping my eyes peeled, but alas, they don't seem to be shooting in Uptown (tho Pete's first movie shot around the corner from my place).

Thanks for sharing!

Some take the high road. Some take the low road.
And some just go screaming down the highway, dropping flaming bits of wreckage.

Also saw Pete and crew filming at 1400 West Hubbard St. near the Breakfast Club restaurant at Hubbard and Noble.

Looked like they continued at the now closed Bones Restaurant on Grand Avenue not too far from there.

I worked on the film and found Nathan to be a warm, friendly, all around great guy. A pleasure to work with.
