Check this out:

Moonlight Rising Con in Bushkill, PA is coming up in June. They auctioned off seats next to their headliners at their banquet on ebay.

Just look at the results:
Nathan: $610.00
Adam Baldwin: $217.50
Amber Benson: $226.50
Kelly Donovan: No bids
Stacey Scowley: No bids
Camden Toy: No bids
James Leary: No bids

Go see here:
http://www.moonlightrisingcon.com/

Looks like our BDH's just kicked some Buffy/Angel butts.

Sorry to say, I did not win any of the bids. Couldn't even place one. Hopefully I will be able to purchase a photo op with our beloved Captain and the man they call Jayne. And if I can figure out how to post them, you'll see them. And I'll be keeping an eye out for the raffle for the other seats...

you know that isnt that far away from me...it would be awfully cool to meet nathan or adam...but by that point i will be deep in studying for the bar...also hard to do with a 4 year old and, lets see, in june..a 5 month old...

still...i wish they would come to the DC area...would be much easier to make a day trip then to have to go/plan to be away for a weekend...that gets hard with responsibilities/children/etc...

Good luck on the evil bar. Have to take it in July altho with just one kiddo. Can't imagine trying that with two, hard enough single momming it thru law school with an ADHD toddler....whew!

But I guess it means we can handle ANYTHING. :)

BDH: Big Damn Heroes
Origins: Safe espisode of Firefly, where they rescue Simon and River.

Mal: "What's that make us?"
Zoe: "Big Damn Heroes, sir!"

Sometimes you'll also see BDM, which stands for Big Damn Movie, a variation on BDH.

Only $217.50 to spend a couple of hours watching Adam Baldwin eat??? I'd have paid more!

Well, I mean, if I HAD more... and if I could actually go to the convention...

Oh, and congrats to you folks taking the bar exams and raising your families. (All toddlers have ADHD. Don't worry.)

Being a dad is harder than being an attorney. Trust me on that one!!! I have a friend who did pass thebar and is now home with her two kids and says that our legal clinic experiences were a piece of cake compared...!

You know what, I bet I would pay big bucks to sit next to one of these guys and then not show up out of fear of spilling everything I ate down my shirt or choking on a glass of water or not knowing what to say or something....so I sure hope whoever spent all that money actually goes!

I could just imagine myself sitting next to them.

*shakes hands*

"Hi, I'm Kaele. You're famous. I'll just spend the rest of the meal listening to you talk and watching. 'Cause I'll just say over and over how much I love your work. Please ignore the staring. Is that ok?"

$120 just to go to the banquet and the auction aside, I probably wouldn't even eat the food or talk for fear of:
1) Spilling food/drink on myself in front of them
2) Shaking too hard to eat
3) Being nervous and stuttering
4) Repeating myself incessantly
5) Doing any number of embarrasing and 'natural' noises. aka belching/sneezing on them/passing gas
6) Having to go to the bathroom but being afraid to go since I'd miss all the time I'd spend with them being in the restroom. Then coming back with toilet paper on my shoe.
7) Having my tablemates talk across me just to speak to them because I'd be too nervous or because I wouldn't want to hog their time.

Should I go on?

Maybe it's better I didn't...

Exactly. Not to mention "Do you mind if I take six rolls of film worth of pics of you eating? It's for the Browncoats on Fireflyfans.net who didn't get to come."

Hope Nathan/Adam/whoever else knows the heimlich maneuver, last time I had dinner with a gorgeous guy (in high school no less) I about choked on my prime rib. SIGH.
