Another 'Support Firefly' idea...

Hey, Browncoats -- it's tax season in the USA! Woohoo!

For quite a few of us, that means there's going to be a shiny refund check coming our way pretty soon. Now, wouldn't it be nice to share some of that good feeling with your fellow Browncoats and the rest of the 'verse?

Well, what better way than by applying some of that cashy money to the most important cause of all -- getting more of our Big Damn Heroes?

Here's the idea. Before you do your taxes (or after), take a "Firefly Tithe" pledge. That is, promise that you'll dedicate 10% of your refund (if any) to doing Good Things for the future of the franchise. That means buying Serenity or Firefly DVDs (for yourself or to give away), Firefly related books or other products, or going to special showings of Serenity if any are scheduled close to you.

I'm going to do it -- and my refund is going to be pretty darn big this year. Anybody else with me?

I will DonCoat, although I haven't gotten anything back in the last 7 years

I'll gladly dedicate 10% if I do. Was already plannin' to purchase DVD's for gifts, in fact, just got done ordering 2 Serenity's and 1 Firefly as gifts.... but I can up the ante.

And even if I don't get some back.... I'll pledge to give away two more extra copies a month, even if it's to random folks out of my office. OR....
I noticed on the Appreciatin' Nathan thread over on the other board that some very sweet member gifted Serenity to another Browncoat who didn't have it yet, thru the Amazon wish list thingy.... I could do some of that. Yea, perfect!

Small price to pay for more of the 'verse!

lmao! right there with ya, buddy ;p

did my taxes online this year, so I've actually already spent a heft portion of my refund. had a couple essentials to pick up (paying off traffic tickets, getting a new scanner, etc...) but was able to set aside a good amount and get my Firefly collection up to speed ;p

So thanks to taxes I've got the Visual Companion, Finding Serenity, both Soundtracks, the TPB, and one of the signed issues they were offering over at 258 West Authentic.

Just got the last of the stuff in the mail yesterday, so *squee!*... 'Course I've burned through all the books already so I'm already back to hurtin' for more.

Thats a Big Damn Idea! I checked out the link and wanted to start a list of e-mails or names that can be looked up thru the Amazon.com wish list. All fans who can't afford and really want copies of any firefly based music/movies/books please drop your name or e-mail address(amazon wishlist based) after this reply. Help support another movie or series by buying for another browncoat.

Thanks for the coat, I feel I've gone from 0 to Browncoat in a short amount of time since I saw the movie, buying as much merchandise as I could get my hands on. I love everything about the Firefly 'verse. I may not have your posting mileage/wit but my intentions are true. I am working towards a one-stop support thread because old threads tend to get buried.
