How many friends have you converted??

So far I've convinced 2 friends to buy both the Firefly boxset and the Serenity movie. Though another friend watched 20 minutes of Serenity and turned off, which is not really surprising as he hates Sci-Fi, but it was worth a try!!!

How many have you conviced?

Sadly, I have no friends. Well no friends that don't already know about Serenifly. Though I'm thinking about doing up a sandwich board that says, "Ask me about Firefly" and wandering around the city to drum up interest.

I've only had one total success story- I go my best friend's mom (who I'm pretty good friends with, too, lol) to buy both the BDM and the Firefly boxed set. I've converted my boyfriend to Firefly/Serenity love, but he won't buy them 'cause he just steals them from me when he wants them. Same with my friend Justin- he totally loves Firefly and Serenity, but is too cheap to purchase. I'm still working on him, though...

Unfortunatly I haven't converted many people. I've only converted 3, but the good news is most of my other friends already are fans. The ones that don't have the dvd's I will buy them as a gift on their b-day. Ha ha. But I tell everyone I know about it and slowly get them to see the BDM or I loan them Firefly. Although I wish my g/f would convert already. She thinks it's ok(???) how anyone can think that is beyond me.

I've converted 8. Bought three people Firefly and Serenity sets for Christmas ;)

One of those is *not* a western or a sci fi watcher either, she hates the genre. I feel a warm glow of accomplishment considering she loves it now ;)

Converted several friends and a couple family members to boot, but the coolest thing ever was seeing one of those friends that I converted . . . convert someone else! I felt like a proud grandpa! Or at least, how I'd imagine a proud grandpa would feel.

Don't know how many have bought one of there own but so far I've bought both the box set and the movie twice. One for home one to loan. Although I should probably get more because getting the loaners back is pretty damn difficult.

I went to the movie with about 15 different people (some more than once as I personally saw it 8 times). Several of these people mentioned it to their friends and I know of at least 8 others that subsequently saw the movie because of this.

I have shown the episodes to 7 people thus far. Of these, four own the movie and 2 the tv series. I am planning on having a FF-watching shindig very soon and hope to introduce at least 5-7 more people to the tv show.

Everyone that saw the movie liked it. Some loved it. But unlike the movie, anyone who sees the television show becomes irrevocably hooked. I don't know anyone who hasn't fallen in love with the show after watching the episodes. This is the ultimate conversion tool.

So keep on converting browncoats! We will get more SereniFly if we keep up the good work. The show sells itself. We just need to expose people to the contagion. And make sure your converts know that buying the movie dvds is important for the future of the show.

That might work. A brilliant solution Dave.

Myself I can count 4. One of them is a brother that I hounded, but he saw the show in the beggining (only a few shows cause you know Fux fuxxing up) and he had to have a little time before he got into it again. Borrowed him my boxset and was hooked. (He also ruined two of the covers and now owes me a shiny new unmarked set. grr, watch out that doesn't happen to any of you)

A girlfriend in California was reeled in recently, I told her about Firefly, and let me tell you I become very passionate when I talk about Firefly with close friends and family, she became curious but I wasn't sure if she was interested, then she tells me she gets tickets to the early prescreenings (the ones that were used as virul marketing with limited then more wide range release) and of course I was burning with envy, but I was happy because I knew when she saw it, *bang* she'd realize why I got so passionate. Sure enough after the movie (at which I had to enforce the rule of no spoilers) she was going to make sure to see the show. She Netflixes them, and though she isn't a huge fan, she is a psuedo Browncoat (maybe a Fawncoat, you know, off brown)

And the last two was a girlfriend of mine and her son, they had heard about it and weren't sure to rent or buy it, but a little encouraging made them go all out and buy the DVD's and they are yet 2 more to the fold. I actually went to see the movie with them on opening day. It was very enjoyable, until well, you know.

As for those I know who aren't interested, that'd be the rest of my family, I've tried, believe me I've tried, but I've gotten to be a pest to the point where they don't want to hear it anymore. One of them saw the show on tv and catagorically refuses to see anymore. I might MIGHT have a chance with one other, we'll have to wait and see.

Oh, and the two friends I saw the movie with, well the women's sister is also a friend of mine and has taken a curious interest in it. When I get to talk to her again I'll be pushing for her to watch, letting her know how wonderful this Verse is and extohlling it's virtues, and I'll get her sister on my side so we can do a doubleteam.

If I'm a bitch, then life just got interesting

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I have had six friends & family members actually go out & purchase the series DVD. I have had eight buy the BDM DVD.
