For those of you going to Flanvention II, I was just on the BE site and noticed the hotel code to book rooms is up now.

Burbank Hilton
Phone: 818-843-6000
Group code: FLV
Rooms are $109 + tax or $139+tax for a suite.

I booked our rooms and the reservation agent said they were booking at a good pace.

If you are going, you should probably grab a room at the con rate while they are available.

I pray they still make mocha ice lattes in the lobby when we are there. *very addicted*

I live right down the street and I can't even afford to go to this Convention. Talk about depressing!

Cab fares to and from airports: $120
Airline ticket to California: $625
Touching Nathan Fillion: Priceless

I am coming from Canada - I will probably spend almost $745 just getting there. I wish I lived down the street.

Fly into the Burbank airport. The hotel is right across the street. That will cut out some expenses.

Even if it costs a few extra dollars its worth it. Flying into LAX is not worth the hassel.

I'm hoping I'll see some of the cast at Comic Con international this year. It's my only hope of ever meeting any of them!

Sadly, no airlines from Toronto fly directly to Burbank.

That means changing planes somewhere.

Half the time your plane is late and you miss your connection and then spend 7 hours trying to get another fight instead of taking a very cheap/fast 30 minute shuttle from LAX to Burbank.

It's really the cab fare at my end that is the killer.

Maybe we can get BE to throw an event in TO some time. ;)

I just looked and the cost for tickets to this event are $229. And those are the cheepest ones! Is it really worth it? That much money? I'm used to attending conventions that don't cost nearly that much.

They don't have a real huge list of cast signed up to go either. Did some get added at the last minute, last time?

I'd love to meet the cast, Sean Maher especially, but scraping together that much money (for me) would be difficult.

Plus, I'd loe to meet other Firefly fans. I just got involved in the fandom last Dec so haven't met anyone at all.

Couple people want to crash at my place and get me a ticket?! Hee :)

Check out Jet Blue. I absolutely love them and won't fly on any other airline.

I take it you are not one of the 700+ members of the Canadian Browncoats?

One of our members is looking into it. She put up a poll on the yahoo group.

I have my fingers crossed SFX will get one but who knows.
