Hey, all the preorder sites are listing the DVD format as full-screen. I know they were filmed wide-screen. I thought Joss said they'd come out in wide-screen. Anyone know what the deal is?

I think it would be somewhat of a letdown to sell this series only in full-screen. Of course, I also believe it would not be fair to sell only in wide-screen format either, for those who have smaller TVs. But most people I know, if given the choice, would buy wide-screen.

Talk peace, but, carry a BIG stick.

Some of the new DVD's have both sides written on with wide screen one side and turn it over and full screen on the other...we may get both?

OMG I so hope we get the option of wide screen..
The shows were also taped in High-definition(sp?).
I just bought (last year) a 43" widescreen TV and DVD player.. I WANT FF IN WIDESCREEN!

Just my 2 Cents.

The Firefly DVDs will be in anamorphic widescreen -- the "full frame" specs come from an etailer who obviously made a mistake on their early information. Joss keeps a close eye on the aspect ratio of the DVD releases of his oeuvres (at least in region 1 anyway). This was made clear by the full frame BtVS releases from widescreen source material only in region 1 because he intended for BtVS to be in full frame. Firefly was obviously ment to be in widescreen so it will be.

According to DVDfile.com the Firefly DVDs will be in 16:9 Widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. I think Amazon has just taken guess and just gone with the the same specs as Buffy 1.33:1 Fullscreen and Stereo 2.0 sound.
