Hey. I was hoping to see when everyone expects the firefly movie to hit the cinemas. Just looking for your opinions. thanks.

If filming begins in February or March as we all hope, then I expect the earliest release date would be September or October of 2004. If Universal likes how the film turned out (and especially if the MPAA gives it a PG rating), they may hold it back for the holiday season in hopes of better ticket sales. I can't see a film studio sitting on this film much longer than that since the casual fan buzz from the DVD release will slowly fade over 2004, but Universal has been doing some stupid things in recent years (leading to their current financial crisis).

I think a PG-13 rating is pretty much assured... they don't need to swear, since they've got their own slang curses and Chinese insults, they don't need to show anything too horribly graphic beyond the Reavers (and you really have to work for an R rating from gore)... and I guess I can, reluctantly, accept a lack of Morena Baccarin nudity for the sake of the movie getting a wider audience.

yeah. that’s speculation at best. I doubt even Joss could tell you when the movie is coming out.
TV tome, and imdb, relies mostly on fan input. so it's not always as accurate as we'd like. That’s just some wishful thinking.
