"And in the air, the Fireflies
Our only light, in paradise
We'll show the world, they were wrong
And teach them all, to sing along"
-- Nickelback, If Everyone Cared

Sounds rather metaphorical to me. What do you think?

Why? 'Cause having high-profile fans of the show is a bad thing? They may not be the best band around (by a looong shot), but they might bring some FF awareness to those who would not have looked otherwise.

Not that I think they're fans... but every little bit helps.

Anyone who listens to Nickelback and makes a connection and thinks "Oh, Nickelback likes that show 'Firefly,' I'll have to check it out," doesn't deserve the title "Browncoat."

Wow.

So, being a Browncoat now relies on one's musical taste?

I don't know what you listen to, but I can garuntee that there are Browncoats on this board who listen to music you don't like, and I'm equally sure you listen to stuff that others here would hate.

Hey-I just bought the Nickleback CD and I like it too (like the gravely voice-just like Jayne). I thought of Firefly when I first listened to that song-how weird is that! By the way I had just bought the CD this am-the wheel turns in very interesting ways.

Just bought the CD today (before your post) and I also found myself thinking of Firefly while listening to this song. Would like to know if they are browncoats.
