Does anyone know the answers to any of the following questions?

1. Did Universal purchase the rights to make three movies, or the right to make one, along with the *option* to make additional films (which would presumably involve additional payments to Fox)?

2. How much were the rights purchased for?

3. Does the 39 million dollar figure on production costs include the amount paid for the rights?

I can't seem to find any of this information on the net. I am hopeful that someone here can shed some light...

Unfortunetly, that's the kind of info that studios rarely, if ever release. There's been speculation, but I doubt we'll ever know the real figures.

Thanks for the reply. Wasn't sure if any of that info would be public. Not surprised, given the wraps that the DVD sales have been under.

Seems like even with box office sales and goods guesses of DVD sales/rentals, the "threshold" for a sequel is a big unknown. *sigh*...continuing the 'verse in comics just doesn't cut if for me. Hopefully BSG doesn't jump the shark anytime soon.
