We all know about those screenings of Serenity before it was released and the River Tam Session.

Some recent efforts:

GUERILLA Marketing can be defined as grass roots marketing in unconventional methods, usually with minimal budget. A typical web method of guerilla marketing is posting messages onto forums on behalf of companies, usually in a subtle way to "leak" PR messages.

VIRAL marketing describes any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message's exposure and influence. Like viruses, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, to millions.

Now, far as I'm concerned, I don't care what you do or how long you've been a fan. You're all Browncoats now. And Browncoats are special. We've done the impossible before, now it's time to pull something miraculous.

What I'm wondering is, you gonna take that shiny new Browncoat you got issued and make it real?

BATTLE FOR SERENITY
WE are the fans, we are the ones Joss thanked for keeping his show going. We can talk all we want about money, moan about TV execs and cancellations, and cry into our rice wine about only a sliver of hope about something on the horizon.

I'm askin' now. All you recruits old and new. Check out those links above and do ONE thing on it.

Just one.

Even if it's sending only ONE postcard, or taping up ONE poster in a public place.

ONE e-mail.

ONE letter.

This is your mission.

* salutes, shifts rifle to the ready and moves forward one step*

I'm here. I'm talkin' to the guy that owns our local paper today in the hopes he'll let me write a small article about our movie and Browncoats.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm also sending out shiny postcards and letters that I'll write up this weekend and mail Monday and I give my word I'll do it every week.

Come on troops.... we won a movie... we can win more!

" You hold. Hold til I get back." Mal

I'm on it quicker than reavers..
ALSO, Hmm.. there's a reminder thread posted about the March 10th marathon of Firefly on SciFi..
I suggest passing that tidbit along EVERYWHERE to EVERYONE to TIVO the marathon... record it, watch it, to get others hooked so they'll rush out, buy the BDS box set, the BDM, and so on... I remember, that's all it took for me..
Whadda ya say???

...use of a swhat??

And I'd ask everyone to make a commitment-
Buy one more Serenity dvd. Just one more.
Give it as a gift. Donate it. Whatever you have to do.
How many of us are there?
Add just one more dvd to the sales per person.
The numbers matter, and they matter more every day as we move further from the release date.

Two great places to send your extra firefly set to or a good excuse to buy another set is

1.your local library, talk to the librarian and make sure it will be put in circulation (fewer dvd's to compete on teh shelves, its free to borrow it, and it greatly increases our recruitment power.

2.troops overseas (captive audience)very appreciative of new things to watch, and troops tend to pass dvds around their units.

Browncoats are the shiniest folks in the 'verse

I have

given a copy to the Library
donated towards troop DVDs
left the book and some tapes in the "trading" area at work
loaned out DVDs to those that will take them
left some posters on the subway

my circle of friends happen to be HERE
so not sure what else I can do

Also, I can kill you with my brain.
