Howdy folks! I've pulled my leather workshop out of storage and have been busily working on recreating some leather pieces from the 'verse over the last few weeks. I think I've got Jayne's gunbelt and sheath down pretty well now, and I've put my first few pieces up on eBay:

Jayne's Gunbelt Size 32-34":

Jayne's Gunbelt Size 35-37":

Jayne's Gunbelt Size 39-41":

Jayne's Leather Knife Sheath:

Jayne's Bowie Knife & Custom Sheath:

If these do well, I'm hoping to eventually offer made to order reproduction Firefly/Serenity leather goods right from my website. I'm working out Jayne's wrist guard now, and then I want to try to come up with a copy of Mal's pistol rig that will properly fit the resin replicas of his pistol from the show (assuming I can get my hands on one of the replicas!). I'm also trying to work out a non-lethal version of Jayne's bowie knife that would be better suited to costume or RP use.

It took me a few tries to get these pieces worked out to where I am more or less happy with them so I also have a few "seconds" from my early attempts, available at a pretty good discount if you don't mind the flaws. You can check them out on my temporary website at:

Sir, that is some mighty fine work I see there, I must order because I'm in the market for both Knife/Shealth combo and belt for my Jayne costume.

Again, awesome work!

Thanks V, I appreciate that! My wantin' to have my own Jayne belt got me started on this...oddly enough I still don't have one for my own self!

I reckon that'll get taken care of this weekend though.

We sure do have some talented people in this community.

Excellent job on those. You sure they're not props from the show?

I was thinking the same thing. I couldn't tell a difference at all. Mine would have come out looking like a summer camp wallet. Remember those? Made of "leather" and yarn? Mine sucked.

Shiney work, that's awesome. Would you be willing to combine shipping on an ebay item and a "bargain" item?

Looks like your auctions are taking off quick. Good luck on the website; I think it should do well!

If you sell on eBay and on a separate website, you are allowed to put ONE link from your About Me page to the website, just the landing page, not a specific item page, and refer people to your website. Nothing in the auctions, nothing in your eBay Store if you open one. (I learned all this rather painfully.) But even with the one link, people will follow it to your website.

Thanks for the encouragement and kind remarks guys!

Quite a ways back I did a lot of SCA leatherworking and my fun hobby kinda turned into a nerve-wracking business. Once it got to the point where I was mass producing stuff for 14 hours a day to keep up with orders, I guess I got a little burned out so one day I just shut the whole thing down, shoved everything into a closet and forgot about it 'till recently.

I'd be happy to combine shipping on any orders, just drop me a note after the auction(s) end and I'll send you a total and ship everything together for the same shipping cost.

And yeah Milford, I remember those wallets!

You should have seen my first few belts - between being a bit rusty and working out the pattern, they were pretty...well, not pretty...lol!
