Hey all,
I was just talking to my sister who had finally seen the BDM and told her all about the Browncoat movement, and I started to worry. Are we moving too slow in getting the word out? I don't know how to move around quicker. I just hope that Joss and crew haven't moved on and we are left waiting. I don't think this is true, It's just the interview posted on Thursday has left me a bit down.
Is there a legal reason that Sci-Fi channel hasn't optioned a new series? I mean how much longer can SG-1 stay on? Firefly would be the perfect replacement. surely Browncoats alone could keep the show on Sci- Fi. Battle star Galatica is useing the same type of effects shooting pioneered by Firefly, so why not bring the show or a miniseries back on thier Friday lineup.
What ever the ultimate out come I will still hold till Mal gets back. Spreading the good word with my last breath.

No-one is advertising, so we are doing it all ourselves. Quite frankly, with all the new people joining almost dayly, I don't think that anyone can complain. After all, what about all those out there that are fans, but don't join this site, or any site.

Also, SciFi has a fairly large restriction. It has to pay a large some of money to buy the rights from F*X to be able to make it. Right now they are already committed to a number of series so there funds are limited.

But, one must point out that F*X isn't exactly the most reasonable company around. So, I'd imagine that there asking price is probably unreasonable enough to make it financially impossible for the buyer to make any kind of profit afterward.

Exactly. Either Fox sells the rights cheap against all rationality or Universal give it another risky try at the big screen (or DVD). The latter is much more likely at this point.

I believe that Universal could do a tv movie or mini-series, which would most likely be shown by the Sci-Fi channel which is part of the NBC-Universal family. That's probably our best shot.

It seems slow, it really does, but we're all doing what we can do. Writing letters, buying DVD's, telling friends and family. Guerilla marketing is good too, 11th Hour has a thread up with her mini posters and posters up for printing.
They are to remind everyone of the March 10 Firefly marathon on SciFi.

I got hooked one episode in watching this masterpiece on the SciFi channel. There will be more converts. There are new folks discovering the 'verse everyday.

Soon our numbers will be so large that Universal and their partners ( SciFi, NBC) will have to hear us. We just have to hold. And work hard.

I'm trying to think of the best way to say this... I'll just launch right in.

It took awhile for the DVD's of the series to make their mark and draw in people. It'll take awhile for the movie to do the same. We have to help it happen. I think everyone knew that this was a possibility all along. I think they're counting on us to do it.

Thanks soo much everyone. I'm not sure if I'm a new browncoat, being someone who watched the show when it was first on, but now I know what to call myself and I've found a home here. Thanks for the words and comfort. More people are hearing about the verse, but I don't want to take as long as it took to get the movie made.

I'll hold. I'm a Browncoat. It's what I do.
