Okay so I own my copy of Firefly and Serenity, and I bought my uncle a copy of both for his birthday. So I think I've done my part at least. But my question is: is there a quota or something that we have to reach in order for Fox to consider reviving Firefly? How many DVDs have to sell? I mean I've been looking at the Amazon rankings from the link at this website, and from what I can tell it's been doing pretty damn well. I mean the other day it was ranked number 9, and it's been out a pretty long time right? So isn't it doing pretty well? Anybody know if this is a good sign? Or if its dead or what??!?!?!?!

More likely that we get something from Universal than Fox. Obviously there's no magic number, but if we just keep buying the DVDs and merchandise they'll have to take notice. The fanbase is bigger than ever and still growing.

My understanding is that Joss will never work with FOX again. So, best bets are SciFi Channel for the BDS and Universal for another BDM.

Or both for a BDMS.

Well is it even remotely possible that another station would pick the show up? I mean I know it just sounds bizarre to conceive Firefly on NBC, but hell I'd watch it if it were on PBS.

While he certainly has issues with f*x, there really aren't that many partners to dance with. Even counting in *every* possible cable network, there are probably less than a dozen real contenders. And with the stuff before the FCC now that would allow the customer to pay only for the channels that are wanted rather than by packages of channels, there may be fewer contenders soon. (Though I have to say it irks me that anyone who wants a shopping channel can make money even if no-one buys anything, just by sucking a little bit of the money out of those packages....)

I would be un-shocked if he were willing to deal with them, but I would also expect him to go in eyes open and well defended in any contracts.

Another thing to consider: Though Joss had many problems with the execs at fox, none of those people who were responsible for greenlighting, meddling with, and subsequent cancelling Firefly are still there.

Good point mark, although he ain't gonna be workin' with Fox too soon. At HMV, Firefly was # 4 for sales, beating out Friends. If this continues, Universal might contact Joss for a BDMS! Here's hoping, and remember: I don't care what you believe, just believe it.

I think a little chaos is in order.

I'd say I've bought about eight FF sets and over a dozen Serenity DVDs as gifts so far...

You mean NBC/Universal or is it Universal/NBC? So don't think it is inconceivable to see Serenity (TV show)on NBC. Probably will not be called Firefly because Fox owns the rights to "Firefly"...unless Fox releases rights to Universal/NBC for a cut of the new shows DVD sales.
