Hey yall,

Just thought I would post how our Big Easy Shindig went down. Here is a copy of the email sent out last night.

*** FIREFLY PILOT 3-12-06***FIREFLY PILOT 3-12-06***FIREFLY PILOT 3-12-06 ***

Browncoats,

First of all, guys...we rocked. The turnout at Igor's Buddha Belly was,
in my opinion, an incredible one! Great times were had, money was raised and
Mudder's Milk was drunk (or drank, or drunken...I hate that word). We raised a
good amount of money for NOLA Hurricane Relief as well as Equality Now! Awesome
job guys.
If anyone was wondering, we had about 35 browncoats in attendance, also
quite unbelievable. Everyone seemed to have a hell of a time seeing our BDM. We
really pulled together and finally have gotten organized. We will be going to
the local businesses this week and next with the numbers and see if they can't
cough some pretties up for us. We also smoothed out some details after the
movie, trying to get things to move better throughout the event. The Raffle for
RED DRAGON DOJO is still going strong, collecting tickets every day. All
proceeds go towards charity.
Due to a number of requests, there will be a weekly discussion group
held during the week for people who cannot make it to Sunday's events and for
all discussions shiny and the like. Trust me, it will be a lot of fun. This
will also allow us to meet during the day and organize other awesome events.
Off topic: Can anyone knit?
Oh, and to not risk alienating others, if you saw some people that
seemed to be more into it than others (hint: Corset and sidearm [FAKE!!!!]) do
not hesitate to come bring your own parasol, join in! Apparently geek is chic
right now. We will be bringing cameras to the rest of the shows so look your
best.
If anyone wants to help with advertising, that would be a great help to
the Regiment. Passing out flyers, posting them on telephone poles, or whatever
will help spread the word. We wanna make some noise, we gotta bring us
together. The more people we have, the more attention we have. (Was the last
paragraph a little much? Ah well) Please do not hesitate to respond to this
call of action.
That is all, remember that on March 12th at Igor's Buddha Belly (4437
Magazine Street) we will be watching the 2 hour pilot for Firefly. We will
continue every Sunday watching these episodes. If you all have ANY questions or
suggestions please email me. Also, if you are interested in the discussion
group, drop me a line. I hope to see you all at the next Shindig next Sunday!

Shiny,
Will

Just thought I'd share....any thoughts?

Oh I have seen apollocon.com and trust me, mighty interested in the prospect. This is definitly something that will be brought up in discussion. But that leads me to the question, who would win if we had a showdown at Apollocon? The storm troopers or us?

Just a thought,
Will
