Hi, I got a version of the unaired pilot but the quality is pretty bad. Its on a real player format. Does anyone know where I can get a better version of the unaired pilot? Thanks.

That is the only place unless you can find the person with the original beta tape. That is assuming if the beta tape still exists.

I do wonder where the original person that ingested it onto the internet got the original beta tape and if they still have access to it.

It's not a rumor. There are two version of the pilot. The second version which aired and can be found on your DVD and then another version that was originally shown to FOX execs and was the reason why they scrapped the two hour pilot.

Both versions have different music, extended scenes (remember all those weird jump cuts in the two hour pilot, well there was stuff in between those cuts), and different opening scenes.

I found mine on a file sharing program I believe it was ARES at the time. I have switched to using limewire since then. But yes there were two versions. I can't upload it to a site I have no where to put it but I'd be glad to send the version I have to anyone who can. I have a DSL connection so its fast but it still may take a while to upload to you, but I'd be willing to wait if you will. E-mail me about it if you're interested. Daniel_Fyre@yahoo.com

Weird way for me to make a first post but...I'm a little confused here, looking at that site you linked, which is episode not on the DVD? The descriptions given are kinda vague...Or I'm crazy, easily either one really ^^

The one that says (revised) is the one on the DVD the other is the unaired pilot and its the same version that I have. Also, One thing I noticed by the way about the unaired vs. the aired pilot is that in the unaired pilot when Kaylee asks Mal for a new compression coil Mal says he doesn't have the cash for it but then tells Wash to look for one. In the DVD version he does not tell Wash to look for one. In the train job Kaylee says she needs a new compression coil so it was probably taken out to make more sense with the second ep (had the pilot been aired first, that is).

There are a lot small details in the unaired one that I wish they didn't cut but some of them I can understand why they did. A lot of the stuff was obviously cut so that they could fit the new beginning on with Mal and Zoe during Serenity Valley.
