ok so i'm fairly new here and i'm prepared to take as much of a lashing as possible for this but can someone please tell me what BDS and BDM mean? thank you

Sure. In the episode SAFE of firefly, zoe says "Big Damn Heroes, Sir". From that, we derive BIG DAMN MOVIE and BIG DAMN SERIES.

You'll see a lot of things starting with BD (Big Damn). I've seen Big Damn Series, Big Damn Movie, Big Damn Board, Big Damn Writers, Big Damn Actors, Big Damn Joss, Big Damn Universal, Big Damn Flanvention, Big Damn Comic, Big Damn Inara Theory, Big Damn Trilogy, Big Damn Roleplay, Big Damn Action Figures, I even have a vague memory of Big Damn Cookies at one point. Personally it bugs the hell out of me (except big damn cookies, that was pretty funny) but I seem to be in the minority...
