Jewel Staite is in a Lifetime movie tonight playing the daughter of a dying mother?

Just caught her name on the credits. I've never seen her in anything else besides Firefly so it's a little weird. I keep expecting her to be Kaylee.

When I first saw Serenity I saw her name on the opening credits (I saw Serenity before Firefly) and I was like whoa Catalina's in this? I knew her as Catalina from Space Cases all those years ago and before that from two are you afraid of the dark eps. I remembered her 'cause I thought she was mighty shiny to look at.

Ain't that just shiny?

LADYSERENITY

I remember her from an x-file episode called "Oubliette" (probably not spelled right) where her character was kidnapped by a guy who took class pictures at her school, and this other woman had a pychic connection with her and helped Mulder and Scully find her. Don't remember which season its from though.

Lady Serenity

That's CRAZY. I had no idea she was on Space Cases. I used to watch that show all the time - back when Nickelodeon had shows on that were tolerable.

The movie is "Widow on the Hill". I think she filmed it after Serenity but before the BDM opened.

I actually watched that last night, because Jewel Staite was in it. Our girl was the only good thing about the program. When it ended (and in a particularly non-satisfactory way) my mom and I just looked at each other and said "what the f*@k was that?"

The X-Files ep was in season 4 and is one of the series' best stand-alones... Mulder crying over Lucy Householder (who sacrifices herself for Jewel/Amy) at the end is one of his more emotive moments- the whole thing just rocks!

Man I miss the X-Files :(

Ching-wah TSAO duh liou mahng. Shiny.
The truth is out there!

Nobody else watched Flash Forward or Higher Ground? I used to love those shows. Maybe cause I love kid shows. Everything works out in 30 minutes or less (Except in Higher Ground lots o angsty goodness). She's been in a crap load of stuff cause well......she rules!

Widow on the Hill is on DVD that Lifetime put out along with another Lifetime movie, I forget what that is called, but anyway I noticed it when I was in Walmart the other day. Shiny, huh!

I saw Serenity first too, didn't recognize her name but thought she looked really familiar. Looked her up on IMDB and was like "OMG, she was on Are You Afraid of the Dark! That's it!". I loved that show, and I distinctly remember the two episodes she was in. I didn't recognize her so much from Space Cases though, probably because of the rainbow wig she wore.

Suggested viewing for other stuff she has been in is Wonderfalls, great show from Tim Minear and she plays a very "non-Kaylee" role.

As long as we're listing stuff Jewel's been in, don't forget her reoccurring role as Gabrielle Davinci in "Davinci's Inquest".

Oh, I didn't know she was in that. I see it all the time listed on my show guide. I'll have to watch it now!

And for everyone that enjoys Kaylee's introduction scene in Out of Gas, check out Jewel in episode 1-14 of Dead Like Me.

Shiny!! Always trying to convert new people. It really is a great show in general; my wife and I are totally hooked on it. It beats the pants off of any other cop drama/procedural out there.

Jewel is in seasons 1-5, mostly 1 and 2. WGN is just about to start season 7. Here are links to the Davinci website and to a previous thread here:

Give it five episodes; it'll have you hooked!
