Firefly game ideas?

Alright, being the game lover I am, and knowing that we Browncoats are a creative lot, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a place to write down any ideas/requests/features/etc. that we'd want in a Firefly game.

I myself would want it to be something like Star Wars: Galaxies. You wouldn't have to have a combat character, you could join who you wanted (imagine being a Reaver.

) Add in vehicles and space flight, and I'd say shiny.

Ah, shiny another Firefly game thread! (I don't mean that sarcastically in any way, either... was a HUGE gaming addict before Firefly took over.)

I think of Firefly: the MMO, and the first thing that pops into my head is EVE-Online. (I could write a whole multi-page essay about the fine points of that game, so I'll just post the link to their official site here: http://www.eve-online.com )

I did end up dropping my account there after about a year of play, though. I never really took to the idea of being a vague cybernetic presence in my ship, for one. And after a time, I realized it just wasn't my brand of science fiction. (Firefly fits rather snuggly into what is: I'd be suprised if Joss and I haven't seen some of the same movies.)

So yeah, borrowing some bits from Star Wars Galaxies would be shiney, too. I like the idea in that, of being able to be in space and/ or a planet. (Never played SWG, though, so I can't comment too much on that one.)

Firefly sort of makes sense as an MMO I'd think. (I'll leave to others to discuss whether or not it's feasible.) The whole 'family' motif would play well in an online game, where obviously the main thrust it try to get players to interact and team up. Anything like that comes out, I'll definately sign up.

Just so many of you know. Although I don't posses the tools to develop the game myself, I have been privatly working on a "dream sheet" if you will for a game that I currently title "My Sci-Fi Space MMO" for various reasons. But you get the the idea.

I have managed to come up with a concept for the base organization of the game, and alot of the aspects. My goal is to eventually poslish it off and submit it to a large development firm for review and hopefully, hopefully, it could see the development/license team, and become a reality.

And I think you guys might like it. I have played both SWG, and EVE, so there is probably a little hint of both games in there.
