May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Ok, so for you browncoats that went to Dragon Con last year, I am sure you all got to meet and or hear the Bedlam Bards play. Cedric, Hawk & Lilly were great last year & the Bards took part in the Dragon Con Parade w/ Cedric providing music for the browncoats & marching songs. It was a real blast.

The Bards made the parade something to remember and they browncoats. Right now they are browncoats who need our help. Cedric has been trying to reach the Powers That Be at Dragon Con about attending, but to date has not heard back from them. This is where we come in. We browncoats have always stuck together & right now the Bards need our help.

What I am asking is that as many browncoats that are of a mind to send a quick email to Dragon Con asking that they book the Bedlam Bards for the Con this year. It will only take a moment of your time & it will be helping out a great group of hard working browncoats.

The Bards will playing at the Flanvention out in Burbank, CA in December:

I encourage all you west coast browncoats that go to check them out.

Check out the Bards sites here:

Pick up a copy of their On the Drift CD which has some great tunes on it. I advise you get them quick since CDBaby has already sold out of them once before. My personal favorite is the song "On the Drift" which was inspired by the episode "Out of Gas". That song gives me chills every time I listen to it. You can get the CD here:

So, get to typing browncoats. Help out some fellow browncoats & help make Dragon Con 2006 another memorable one for all us 'coats.

Keep flyin'!

Hey BC1,
Loved their performance last year, bought 'On the Drift', fantastic album. The Bards will be at the NC renn faire this coming weekend, we have a group going, if you can make it to Raliegh, also, it's Ash's B-day ,so, Fun! I hope we can help get them back to D*C this year.
Do you happen to have the best address to send such a request to TPTB(The Powers That Be)?

see: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=19428

*Is currently amused that while typing about the Bards, the little screencap in the top left corner is of the guy singing 'Hero of Canton'.

Saw the Bards for the first time this Saturday at the first weekend of the NC Renn Faire. They didn't play anything from On the Drift but were awsome anyway.

Well, shoot, you didn't even introduce yourself!

We're happy to play some of the songs from On the Drift at faire, so be sure to request them. (To keep with the ambience, we don't do the ones that are really obviously about TV or space travel. That still leaves a lot of the album, so request away!)

So NCB, will you be back at the faire this weekend?

Oh, and BC1, thanks for the boost! I hope lots of Browncoats will take you up on this. There are thousands of potential Browncoats at DragonCon who just haven't figured out yet what the big deal is. Music is one more way that we can spread the signal and reach our goal of keeping Firefly alive. I want my Big Damn Trilogy!

Glad to do it Cedric. You, Hawk, & Lilly made Dragon Con pretty special last year and helping you out is the least I can do. I mean how shiny was it to have our own bard during the parade?!?

Send those emails Browncoats!

I'm the quiet type in real life. I had my daughter with me(and caught your first set on Saturday). I also got your Furious Fancies CD-I really like it.

Sorry I didn't stop and talk but my daughter wanted to see all the stuff at the Faire-she'd never been to a Faire before and neither had I. By the time we got back someone else was playing.

I understand. Well, I hope we do get a chance to meet in the future. Maybe this weekend?

Cedric doesn't bite, at least not unless you request it. I'm not too sure about Hawk.

If you go the Ren Fair again this weekend be sure to stop by & say "hi". If you make a request might I suggest you ask them to play "On the Drift" from their new shiny Firefly inspired CD of the same name. It is my favorite song from that CD & is inspired by the "Out of Gas" episode. Great stuff.

Right now my favorite is "River's Jig". I have On the Drift on my MP3 player and listen to it when I walk.
