Um.
Is there a recent headcount of the lifers, newbies, posters and lurkers anywhere?

'Cos I'm thinking the newbies venturing forth are becoming more, and the Amazon listings are pretty cool...and I just was wonderin', somewhat, if anyone was counting. The company seems to me to be ever swellin'.

Hard to know for certain.. but there is NO doubt that there are a lot of newbies and more every week.. and the oldbies don't go away, even if they slow down on posting.. I can't wait for Serenity 2 to open.. there WILL be legions of fans!!

Here's a little trick.

If you hover your mouse over a person's nick (the yellow text at the top of their posts) and look down at the status line at the bottom of your browser, you'll see a URL that ends in a number. That's the person's registration number on FFF.net.

By watching the number each new member gets, you'll have an idea of how many have registered in total (although, of course, some register and never post and many lurk without registering).

That number is closing in on 20,000 at the moment. When I registered last August or September it was around 12,000.

It seems like the membership here has approximately doubled over the past year. I would venture to guess that that's a pretty reasonable estimate for Firefly fandom in general.

The italian ship is Serenità.
I can cook anything from italian to chinese and I'll be glad to cook for everybody in the community (no protein rations...promise)
