I'm guessing Skillz in on the money. I had an Inspiron back in the day and it got pretty hot. Here's one I've actually seen happen...very simple and easy to miss....

Do you have the power/energy saver thing set up? Is it going into to sleep mode? *remember I'm running Mac, it's been a long time since I worked on a pc*

Yes. But you'll have to find your own, I'm afraid.

very good cookies indeedy. Theres a place near us that bakes em fresh every morning, and if you get there early enough they are still warm and the chocolate is still mostly melted but theyre all crispy crunchy around the edges.

mmmmmmmm.

needless to say I don't let myself get there at the right time too often.

I have an eating head on, i'm just eating and eating for no reason, thank fully its just sndwiches and fruit and not cream cakes or take aways, but I can't seem to stop. I think its cause I had vreakfast, and then been alone in the house all day.

apart from the brief hour or too I spent buying far to many birthday presents for my niece (again)

so far she has two sets of Barbies (Anastasia and bloke, and Mulan and bloke - someone was selling off their collection of dolls on ebay and I couldn't resist)
Another Barbie in a pretty blue dress.
A big pink box to keep them in.
Disney Princess Bubble maker set
A set of glitter glue pens, again Disney Princess themed.
A Hat
A beach bag
A pair of Flip flops. (for her holiday to spain)
A new sparlkly nail varnish
and some pink and girly hair bands.

Which is a hell of a lot, proof positive that Helen has no Will Power. But as half of it is from ebay I don't feel like i've got her anything, and keep finding myself thinking about what I can get her for her birthday.

Bah! which also goes to show how dangerous ebay can be.

Ah, my wizard name, which is the only one that I liked - Alatar , Queen of the Valar.

see that? 'Queen' I like!

Of the april fools I think this had to be my favorite -

"The Dungeons & Dragons home page reverted to 17-year-old 2nd Edition artwork, while announcing D&D-branded orc-flavoured bacon and a new line of miniatures including Modrons and the invisible stalker ("so much more than just an empty base"). "

'so much more than just an empty base'... *snork*

Oh, Nos, you did spell quid right, but it was wrong grammatically (yes, brit-land, where even slang has to conform to grammar) you can't 'spend quid' as you'd 'spend money' (the nearest word in that context I can think of is moolah)

Its more 'a quid' 'a few quid' as in 'a pound' or 'a few pound'.

the only exception it the phrase 'quids in' or 'in the money' (i've a lot of money)

How do the canadians say eh? then?

I've always said to rhyme with 'hey' unless i'm being silly then its a short sound to rhyme with 'meh'.

Hmmmmm, is that it? have I caught all up? yey! I promise not to stay away so long again.

I missed y'all.

Seryn-have you ever seen the movie Fargo?

That's how they say "Eh"

I used to work at a bakery that made cookies. It was my job (at times) to take them off the cooling racks and stack them onto trays. We were allowed to eat the broken ones. Also, broken cookies have no calories. FYI.

Ooooh, i see , so y'all brits are crazy and slang has to actually be grammictally correct, eh?

oh and 'eh'is candian slang. i talked to some canadians when i was in canada after my 18th b-day(you know you drink and gamble) and they said you use it on the end of a sentence you want to be a question, or to make the sentece a question(i.e. see sentece above)

aye, crazily enough yes, I think you do have to get the grammar right.

one of the joys of the English language is that its almost infinitly abusable. You can to anything with the noises that letters make or the arrangements of words, and silent letters! endless fun...(and hey, persist long enough and someone puts it in the dictionary)

But grammar seems to be the glue that holds it together, without that its just slidin' into the realms of Gibberish.

you remembered what it was you wanted to say?

I'm all curious now.

Talking of curious, I got hit round the head in the cinema again. My mum got all excited about a film of Curious George, some T.V show that my brother used to love when he was a kid, and I had to open my gob and say something like 'Yeah, and now that he's all grown up he'll love the soon to be released porn version - Bi-Curious Georgeina...*thwack*

I just need to stop being a smart-ass. I made up for it though with the crack about soundtracking the battle of Agincourt with the Benny Hill theme. I actually made her hiccup, I was very proud.

Sorry, I got lost and couldn't find the thread, someone ate my breadcrumb trail. Hey are those crumbs on your chin?

Anyway, names:
Hobbit: Sudoc Cock-robin Ness , Chief
So as a Hobbit I'm a Chief Cock Robber. Either I steal poultry or I don't want to even think about it...
Elven: Brullyra the Heavy-handed
I may not be able to walk on snow without leaving foot prints or be a crackshot with an arrow, but you need a dry wall demolishing or some pie's eating, I'm your elf.
Dwarf: Tosil Fegnus's son
So I was born to Tosil Fegnus and best name they could give me was Junior.
Human: Owonnyn Bowman
Skills in battle: The bow and telling his enimies his first name so that they die laughing...
Wizard: Tilion , Huntsman of the Valar
If Gandalf doesn't stop prancing around on that white horse like he owns the place I'm going to hunt it down and stick it's head on my wall, lets see how he likes them apples.

oky dok:
Hobbit: Peroibo Cock-robin Oldbuck , Shire-thain
Still nicking Cock's, but now I do it with oldBucks. Do you think that means old money or Rabbits/Deer?
Elven: Ysolla the Heavy-handed
Still valliantly defeating the drywall.
Dwarf: Loilir Fegnus's son
What shall we name our son?
Does it matter? We're probably just going to end up eating him like the last one.
Human: Gaedry Bowman
My first name, how Dyslexics spell greedy.
Wizard: Olórin , Huntsman of the Valar
I have a defective name.

Interesting thing, if I put in female instead of male, I get much better names.

Poor Seanny! I felt so very sorry for you that I decided to try. I used "Seanny" since that's what I call you. I think they came out a bit better:

Hobbit: Meregrin Sandyman of Fair Downs

Lose the "Sandyman" part and you're a cross between Pippin and Merry.

Elf: Jaelonna the Valiant

It sounds kinda girly, but "Valiant" is guaranteed to bring the ladies.

Dwarf: Hali Orc-death

He should join forces with Ceanna the Deathless. They'd be an unstoppable Orc-fighting duo!

Human: Rhar Warden of the Houses of Healing

Okay, it sound like you're growling, but being a Warden of the Houses of Healing is cool.

Wizard: Gorthaur Wolf-Sauron

Don't know what's up with the Wolf-Sauron part, but Gorthaur sounds deliciously evil.

And then, if you do "Seanny Young" you get:

Hobbit: Perurry 'the Magnificent' Goodbody of Westmarch

We could call you Perry.

Elf: Syvyan Dark Elf

Oooh, I like this one.

Dwarf: Kemli , King of Durin’s Folk

Dwarves do have a lot of royalty, don't they?

Human: Gworraent of the Númenóreans
One of Strider's men, perhaps?

Wizard: Incánus the Fool

No! I'm not laughing! Really!

If it makes you feel better, when I use my full name, I get this for human: Kairan of the Sickly

Sickly! As if!
