RASPUTIN

Hi All, newbie to the forum, rented Serentity on Netflix several weeks ago, got mega hooked, rented the rest of the woefully short series and now am going to mega withdrawl, I can't remember the last time a series got me as hooked on the characters as this, help, need prozac, need valium, defintely need Mal in those pants what a hottie!

Anything out there we can do to revive the series, am on my way out to LA this week, maybe I'll picket the studios.

Right now, just BUY Serenity for yourself, and get another for a friend. And tell others to do the same. In this way we will hold, 'till the crew comes back.
Nothing will stop the withdrawal, but liberal doses of Dark Angel and the new Galactica might help.

anyway welcome to the 'verse.. we are all holding til Mal gets back....

Welcome to the club. I'm currently in the stages of: "Would rather watch reruns of the series instead of anything else on TV or the 4 recent Oscar winning DVDs i've been loaned".

The next stage is acceptance.

Firefly Disease: the cultlike obsession with anything and everything related to Firefly.

I have it. I love it.

... I'm in.

Yeah, I'm still waiting to get to that "acceptance" stage... ;p Funny how the only good thing that's ever on TV anymore is the Firefly in my DVD player.

Rasputin, I know exactly how you feel. I near about had a panic attack the first time I watched through all of the season. (I told myself: one episode a day, spread it out, make it last. Yeah... that went well :)

Seems the only cure for Firefly-itis is more new Firefly. Browncoats: somewhere between a loyal fanbase, a rowdy mob, and a support group :)

I've heard of some books coming out. Seemed like there was at least one or two authors that were submitting treatments for some novels, and IIRC Whedon's supposed to be working on some more comics at some point? Then there's the Firefly Visual Companion, which I'll have to get if it's anywhere near as shiny as the Serenity one.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Best way to get more of our 'verse is to spread the word. Buy the DVDs. Give them as gifts, lend them, have viewing parties. Share Firefly & Serenity w/ every single person you can. The more fans we pull into the fanbase the better our odds of a future.

Right now the focus is on pushing the movie DVDs. Universal is watching those numbers close. Box offices sales in the U.S. & International market only brought in enough to cover the production costs. We have to sell a boat load (no pun intended) of DVDs to get enough profit to make 'Versal ready to greenlight a sequel.
