Yet another new Browncoat reportin' for duty...

Hello fellow Browncoats....

I get the feeling I've been missing something rather important for the past few years...

Around 3 weeks ago I was looking for a particular DVD and 'found' Serenity purely by chance....things kind of changed after that.
Firefly had passed me by like a ship in the night when it was being aired on TV so when I came across the Serenity DVD I remembered someone telling me Firefly was brilliant and was indeed required viewing (duh..)

So I bought the DVD and watched it. Oh dear, this is the best written and acted Sci-Fi movie I've *ever* seen. Period. I'm including, in this statement, all the usual suspects such as The Matrix, ST, SW, etc, etc. Why...WHY had this passed me by? (something I'm still having trouble answering)

I then immediately purchased the Firefly series. If it weren’t so biologically impossible I would actually have Mr. Whedon's children.
Firefly gets it right in such a way it's beyond me why it was cancelled. Having read up on the turbulent history of this unbelievable piece of creative genius, it saddens me to see the dire rubbish that gets (constantly) commissioned to fill the 'verse with tired, contrived, badly acted and generally just plain awful trash.

In my (humble) opinion, a certain Mr. Lucas should bankroll (Ad infinitum) future series of Firefly until he is bankrupt as penance for SW Ep.1, Ep.2 and Ep.3. To have this entire 'verse consigned to history is such a shame. I could only compare this loss to the destruction (God forbid) of the Sistine Chapel as a loss of such genius!

There, rant over (for now). I have since bought the Serenity soundtrack and am hunting any other Firefly DVD's/CD's/Floppy disks/Stone tablets I can buy for the cause.

I'm even looking for a brown coat...it's that pervasive.

Long live the 'verse.

I think we all have reason to be optimistic, after all, it's not like the 'verse is going to LOSE fans -- it can only grow...and grow...and grow. :D

I think the real problem, as it's been all along, is exposure. There are still so many potential viewers who just don't know about it!

It's a wondrous 'Verse, and who knows what limitatons have been cast aside? We'll have to ask Dr. Tam.

In the mean time, come to the galley and interrogate the buffet. Fresh supplies are brought in daily, and we try (as you may see in other posts) to accommodate all tastes -- within reason, of course.

Thanks for all the friendly welcome messages...glad to be a part of it all. It does feel like a homecoming (you hit the nail on the head there Jossisagod).

Doncoat: lol! I am indeed the incarnation of Blackadder as a Browncoat so expect plenty of (mostly useless) plans to bring Firefly back.

I'm going to look for a comfy cushion as I'm going to be a-holding with the rest the Browncoats till Mal gets back....
