I'm sure someone's already started a thread like this on this site, but since I can't find one, I'll start my own. I've seen the movie twice now, and read the novel, and I'm impressed. I loved the comic and was worried when I heard they were making it into a movie, but Hugo Weaving was brilliant, and I even liked Natalie Portman in this (I've been a little disappointed in her since Star Wars Ep.2). Some of the dialogue rubbed me the wrong way, but that was mainly the stuff that didn't come directly from the original story. Anyhoo, I strongly recommend this to anyone looking for something to see in the near future. Remember, remember, the fifth of November....
(P.S. I also recently saw Mirrormask and Comicbook: The Movie and LOVED them both. Anyone else feel the same?)

I love my captain

Haven't seen V yet but Mirrormask is wonderful. I came to it by way of Neil Gaiman. I love his writing, and I've always been a fan of movies like the Labyrinth. This is a great flik in that tradition.

REGINAROADIE

Havn't seen MIRRORMASK yet, but did see V FOR VENDETTA. Thought they did an incredible job in getting the tone right and staying faithful to the Alan Moore text but not being totally slavish.

And the ending was just perfect. Seeing Parlaiment Hill being blown up with 1812 Overture blaring over the soundtrack adn that last line of Evey's. "He was Edmund Dantes. He was my father, my mother, my brother. He was you...and me. He was all of us."

Haven't seen Mirrormask or V, YET, but it'll probably be a while since they aren't toddler friendly.

As for Comicbook, are you talking about the one with Mark Hamill as Captain Courage?

Mirrormask was fantastic and fantastical. My kids loved it especially. Neil Gaiman remains a favorite author.
We've all wanted to see V for Vendetta and just haven't gotten around to it yet. Hoping to correct that little procrastination soon.

Yay Milford! Yes, "Comicbook: The Movie" is the Mark Hamill movie! Finally, someone else who's seen it! I know, strange of me to love it so much, but the amount of cameos from voice over artists and comic book alumni just blew me away! And the extras on the dvd were also very fun...the panel with Jim Cummings (Pooh Bear) and Billy West (Futurama) is definitely a highlight.

Haven't been able to convince the library to interlibrary loan the novel yet so 'fess up: is the movie fairly faithful to the graphic novel? I simply LOVE Alan Moore and would be hurt to find out they left something important out!
OK so I love Neil Gaiman too. After Sandman how could I not? Will check out Mirrormask when it gets here.

I was torn when it came to that movie. Part of me was amused by the concept and enjoyed the people watching in terms of cameos, but it was a little sad to see Luke dip to something like that. I did like the actor who played Captain/Commander Courage, I can't seem to recall his name, but he was hilairous.

I have. I've also read Anansi Boys, his latest. I read everything Gaiman I can get my paws on!!! And everything Alan Moore. I'm not so obssessed with others but I do like George RR Martin and the guy who wrote the Harry Dresden books, whose name escapes me at the moment.
