Hey all. Have been a lurker. Am still trying to work out the 'puter stuff so that I can post a reasonably cogent message. Thought I would post my message/review from Amazon.com that I left just after I had finished watching the series for the first time. Hope this comes through okay because this expresses my feelings about the "EarthThatWas" 'verse.

I have been so psyched since buying the movie Serenity. Missed seeing the movie while it was playing so on a whim bought it at Walmart (sorry, Amazon.com). I was hooked and ordered the series Firefly from Amazon. Yes, the free market is alive and well. Anyway, that being said, the theme song keeps running through my head and I have even been dreaming about the characters since watching all 14 episodes and the movie again in 2 days. Even rewatched some of the episodes with the comments just to get a new perspective Came to this site today to see if there were any other fans. See lots of normal type folk who are as nuts as I am about this series. It's nice to know that I am not alone in the "Gorram 'verse."

The thing that got me was the nuance of the dialogue then the music. The character development makes me want to hang with each one of them. I am sad that we did not get to learn about the Shephard Book character. I wanna know about his early life.

I have never been a fan of Buffy and have not bought any TV shows on DVD. So all I am trying to say is that I am very glad that I don't have to up the meds! It is like an itch that should be scratched when one finds a gem like this series. I will definitly be more attentive to Joss Wheadon's work. It is a tragedy that this series did not make it but such a blessing that we have the technology to experience it without the commercials!!!!

Well I think it might just work. Now I am almost a computer geek! Aint we just!

I agree with ya 100%, the Serenity crew works as well together as any cast of any show ever put to film.

I was the same. I saw the occasional bit of Buffy or Angel when channel surfing but always thought vampires.. scrawny girls killing monsters.. pfft you gotta be kidding. Well after Firefly and Joss well and truly hooked me I came here to be with kin, and people were telling me to give Buffy and Angel a go, a fair go. I am so glad I did, Buffy and Angel are both excellent, well written shows with really cool characters. I have to say I will now watch ANYTHING Joss has a hand in. The man is a legend.

Welcome, always good to see new members. I am in a similar boat, I have never and really have no desire to see Buffy or Angel. As with all TV (even if written by Joss), there is just no room in this heart for anything but firefly anymore. This show has ruined me

I love your story, and it's so cool to hear all new recruits in how they've come to love the 'verse.
I was a lurker myself at first, just kind of getting a feel of the site and what was being posted.. I was so hooked on the show and movie, and coming to check this site out for me has been like such a home...
I did catch Firefly on Fox when it was on, but never had a chance to see it consistently.. it took a very sick day at home to catch it on a marathon on Sci Fi... Talk about being completely hooked!
