BROWNCOATUNIVERSITY

Wow, I saw Serenity in the theatres shortly after it was first released and recently as I was walking through a local store I discovered (as if I was the first one) the series collection Firefly. I have since watched every episode and completly enjoyed every single one of them. However I must admit that I feel like I've just went on a first date with a girl and at the door I got a hug goodnight. (it's lame cause the girls hot and I want more, I mean the shows hot and I want more. Wait a second am I upset about the girl or Firefly, I'm confused)

Anyway I feel like there could and should be so much more. (sure I'm not the only one) Ok so I have never been obsessive about anything like this before and even as I am typing I feel a little bit nerdy however with that being said I want more, no I need more Firefly!!!! I feel like I am attending an Alcholics Anonymous meeting for Firefly Addicts. I just can't believe with all the junk on TV that a program of this caliber isn't still on and thriving.

Any who I feel sad and down knowing that it's over (for now at least) and I just wanted to talk with those who understand my pain. (fake tear) Anyways how is everyone else coping????? Any suggestions besides re-watching every episode and starting to memorize lines?

Welcome, BrownCoatU! At least here you know you are never alone. We're here for you, anytime you want. Unlike AA, however, we don't expect you to get over your addiction. It's impossible anyway!

We're glad you're here. You should get your own virtual brown coat soon, as well as all sorts of goodies from the others.

Stay and enjoy!

You are SO not alone. I also, have never been this obsessed about anything like I am about Firefly/Serenity. You have definetly come to the right place! Just addressing the itch of curiousity, do you go to Brown? I assume cuz of your screenname. I live in RI. Small state, TONS of Browncoats! Take care. ps, if it makes you feel better I've watched Out of Gas, like 30 times. hehehehe

Welcome! Don't worry, you've come to the right place. And hey, nerdiness is just affection towards something non-mainstream.

I just noticed something... we got our 20000th member on Monday, April 10, 2006 - 12:22 (Hooray, cooolll!). And you're number 20069. That's more than 60 new members in the last 48 hours. That's more than 30 a day. A new browncoat about every 55 minutes. The Center for Disease Control must have heard about Firefly by now.

Well, very cool screenname! Here's another tip. Get as many peeps as you can to watch FF w/you, the more, the merrier, also, don't be a total douche like me and quote the whole thing. Oddly enough, people seem to hate that. And by people, I mean my downer friends who DON'T GET IT!!! LOL

Greetings and salutations, BCU.

It's okay to memorize. Makes it easier to play hangman with Asarian, or Caption Tightpants with CunningOrangeToque. Easier to throw lines around with the people here.

To the non-aficionado it can be disconcerting to be told "That hat makes you look like an idiot."

So. Here's the galley and the buffet table, waiting to be questioned. Strawberries are usually available, and everything else is here on a rotating basis.

We have a giant haul of hodgeberries in a vat in the cargo bay. We're just waiting to start stomping them so we can make wine. Virginity not required...

Welcome, Browncoatuniversity!

Having recently passed through an intense several-week period of Firefly DT's, I want to offer the hope that I lived through it and I believe you will, too. I am now happily settled into obsessively checking this message board, drawing up lists of details from the show, developing essays on my FF theories . . . No more wanting to crawl out of my skin -- whew. This message board really helps, getting to hear from people who are going through this and understand. I am flabbergasted by my reaction to this show, but I'm learning to live with it. I suspect that my hopes of converting others is a balm. Hearing the nice things the cast and Joss say about the show is always soothing. The frequent good news about the DVD sales helps. Out of Gas always gives me a fix for a bit. Reading posts from new browncoats always makes me happy. These are some of the thins that help me not go clnically insane over Firefly. Or not so much.

I love you all!
