All you Fresno and Central Valley Browncoats, we are in the beginning stage of planning a benefit showing of Serenity on June 23. We will need people to help get this going. If you are interested and willing to help, please reply to this thread. Thanks and stay shiny.

Henni,

Great to hear from you! I know just how you feel. But take heart. You are no longer alone. We have an official Browncoat group right here in Fresno. We even have our very own logo. We meet the first Saturday of the month and whenever the mood strikes (dinners and such). Do you have Browncoat friends? If so, have them post here. We're trying to get a sense of how much interest there is for the screening. We're also on Can't Stop the Serenity.

Our stomping ground is fresnobrowncoats on LiveJournal.

Thanks for all the response so far. We are up and running. We already have $500 toward this effort. But now I'm asking more of you than I have before.

On Wednesday, April 19, we are having a meeting for anyone willing to help solicit businesses to sponsor our event. We will meet at Starbucks at River Park at 7pm to discuss where we stand, what we need to do, and how to do it.

Out of curiosity, I was reading the Frenso group on Yahoo! and you have what strikes me as a rather bizarre figure for the Universal costs. Normally, they do "X flat rate or Y percent of the door, whichever is higher" -- and I've not yet encountered a flat rate as high as the one mentioned on your group. So, where did that figure come from?
