I thought this deserved it's own post, since my wife had a great idea. I'm all for this uprising and doing everything we can on June 23rd. And I think the letter campaign is a nice addition to everything.

I told my wife about everything that is planned and she had a good point about the letters. Perhaps, instead of trying to coordinate them all arriving at Universal/Sci-Fi/Fox on the same day, we should send them all to somebody in the L.A. area that can deliver them all at once (ala letters to Santa, miracle on 24th st.).

My wife's points were, 1. We can't garauntee when they will all arrive (the post office might stagger such a large number of letters to the same place, if we can get as many as we hope), 2. It might make a bigger effect to have people see the sheer volume of them. We might even be able to drum up some media coverage of the event, for fans that have to haul that load.

On the negative side, we'd have to have some fan put their address online and it would be a lot of work to collect them.

Any thoughts on this?

OK, I guess I missed the thread that inspired this post (why June 23?), but I have a thought on what you've proposed. If there are indeed several fans in the LA area that want to volunteer their collective time and effort to do this, a PO Box could be rented and published, and it could be registered to the "June 23 Fireflyfans.net Campaign" or just "Fireflyfans.net", or whatever you creative naming-types come up with. And then no one person has to compromise their privacy by posting their address here, and the envelopes maybe look more official anyway if they are addressed to something with Firefly or maybe Serenity in the name.

Come to think of it, you could put Universal/Fox/etc in the name of the "foundation" too.

Oh. Here it is:

I think I missed June 23 last year (I'm a relatively new convert) and didn't rent FF and then see the BDM until somewhat later.
