I agree with this. As long as we're relatively similar, I think we'll get the point across.

Besides, maybe if non-Browncoats notice the slight differences, they'll want to look into it more, to see whether we really do have "one plan" or if there might be more than one & we're just playing with their heads.

I said in the original thread about sigs (link posted above) that the military analogy of army makes me uncomfortable. That's a personal issue - my family is German, and I associate the military with blindly following orders. Others have different associations, and that's why we can use military analogies on this board all the time without offending people. But since this is, after all, an international effort, I think we should try to tone down the military aspect. The words in the sig above hint at military, but you can interpret them other ways. Browncoats aren't military, per say - they're rebels. And going with the third definition of legion, also posted above, it means multitude, not necessarily army. I'm down with that.

I understand the worries about militarism associated with "One army of Browncoats" but remember - army doesn't just mean military. That's the first listed definition in the dictionary, but not the only definition. It also means a body of people organized for a particular cause or reason, and we do seem to be that. I don't think anyone will see the slogan and think that we're advocating a military action. Also, the phrase "We aim to misbehave" - whether one is familiar with the show or not - is light enough in tone that I believe it defrays any violent connotations that might potentially be embedded in the first bit.

i realize it is probably too late to change anything, but i think it should be:

you see I feel that we don't need to clutter the slogan with Browncoats in it. we know who we are, and with just "crew" you get the double meaning. it could be referring to the actual crew of serenity, or us as the crew of fans behind the show. just my opinion.
