I'm going to post updates to the site as they come along. Since I'm just starting, there isn't much to show aside from the logo that I just made. I'm also doing this so I can get community feedback.

Anyway, here's the "correct" version of the logo for Serenity Day. It's in the Blue Sun Room.

Feel free to critique!

Well we can't very well go without using some of Universal/Fox's intellectual property. Hell, look at this website! :P As long as we have a disclaimer, it's usually okay. After all, I'm assuming everyone will want to have some images of the crew and such.

That said, if everyone wants an original logo, that can be done as well. I just assumed we were basing it on the official logo. (Which is splattered all over the web as it is anyway.)

How funny would it be if Uni sent us a cease and desist letter, when we are trying to give them money? Okay, maybe it's not funny...

If a disclaimer is enough, then I absolutely love this for our logo. I can't wait to see what else you come up with.

I think it's flippin' shiny. And I don't think that Universal or Fox would sue because a) you're not selling it or making money off of it and b) it isn't being passed off as an original creation.

I like where you're going with the logo! Sure there will be some tweaking here and there, but the overall idea is great.

By making use of the official logo, it will help reinforce recognition when new folks are looking for the Serenity DVD.

Alright, I revised it again. If you refresh your browsers, it should show up -- I added outlines to the text (as in one edition of the DVD). And adjusted the kerning and size of the D & Y characters.

Are there going to be shirts made up with that logo? I think it'd be so shiny to have that to promote the day. Course then we'd really have to get permission but if we give them part of the profits they may go for it. Any ideas?

Buttons, shirts, bumper stickers, etc would be so wonderful and I'd buy them all.
