Is this a newb question? Most likely, but whatever. Would be nice if they could give us that at least.

You mean the original, before it was tweaked to fit fox's "suggestions?"
If thats what you mean, then I'm right there with you and I'm no newb (been 'round since week 2).

And while we're on the topic, wheres the special edition set, all fancied up with extra features.
Am I gonna have to wait for a ten year anniversary for that?

My thoughts exactly. Im pretty sure ive seen the ACTUAL pilot. My freind got it off the internet. And it is great. Much more pg-13, than pg.

Just give me a shiny box, a couple special features, and if possible maybe an extended cut of the Pilot, with some enhanced effects?

Maybe they dont want to flood the market and confuse people?

Well, the regular box set is still selling pretty good, so they probably want to get as many people to buy it as possible, then release a special edition set so all the people who bought the original then buy it. Milk one cow dry before they start the next. I imagine we'll see the SE Firefly set in a few years.

I found the original pilot on limewire a few months back. The quality is pretty bad, which has kept me from watching it all the way through so far.

Ooooh Shiny! Thanks I have been wanting to see the original pilot!

One day.
One mission.
One army of Browncoats.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave!

Nathan doesn't know it yet, but I am his one true love! Is that weird?

I'd like to see the original pilot released. I downloaded it and watched it, but the quality was pretty bad.

While I don't think we'd ever see a special edition of the Firefly DVD set, I do think there's a possibility for a special edition Serenity DVD. Just imagine: a 3-disc set which includes an uncut version of Serenity (all deleted scenes back in the movie), all of the extras from every region, and a third disc containing the original unaired pilot of Firefly.

A Browncoat can dream, can't he?

I think we're more likely to get a Firefly special edition set than a Serenity set that includes the pilot. Competing studios rarely, if ever, release things together.

Isn't the original Pilot already on the boxed set?

Takes more than combat gear to make a man
Takes more than a license for a gun

Nope. The version in the boxed-set was the re-cut one after Fox turned down the original pilot, and requested The Train Job as a replacement. The version of the pilot we're discussing was the early cut, and has never been officially released.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Is there another place to download it? I'm not a fan of RealPlayer.
