Not sure if this was ever posted on the board. My girlfriend discovered this completely by accident. Why oh why didn't the person responsible at Fux ever read this?

Don't squat with your spurs on.

I've always found this article annoying. Not the good stuff about Firefly but the part about Star Trek being pitched as Wagon Train to the Stars. It makes no sense. With the exception of the OK Corral Episode, there is nothing western about Star Trek. Besides, I always heard (and read) that it was pithced as Hornblower in Space which makes sense because Hornblower was a popular series of novels at the time and there is so much more in common with the vocation and adventures the two lead characters.

Wagon train to the stars. This comparison had nothing to do with Wagon Train being a western. They were refering to the show having a cast of regular characters who travel from place to place solving the problem of the week for people we are likely never to see again.

I love this show.

OK, I'll buy that, but Horblower went from place to place solving problems.
